Whew!  I was worried that some crooked salesman sold Jack some cheap knockoff.

Took advantage of a rare +5C day and washed the car and sprayed a Wet Coating on it too...

Question: is that salt on the driveway? Or some other de-icing compound?

It's gravel mixed with some foam car wash!

Ah, well that's something I didn't consider. I was getting around to asking if you had a "winter beater" car that's used when the roads are bad and all the salt is spread to deal with ice. Many people in the northern US will have a beater car, wondering if that was a thing elsewhere as well.

There's a lot of salt on major roads here as well...and yes bunch of people have beaters for winters here as well.

Luckily living out here in the country side I can commute pretty much without salting my car...there's one quater mile stretch of road that's salted but that's it...and I can avoid that too if I want to.

Also salt only works in over -6C temps so when it's cold there's no salt...so that's one positive thing about the cold...

Cars around here do tend to rust bit more than lets say up north or in center Europe.

Along the Texas coast, salt is a year-round thing because of the sea air, no getting away from it there.

Ah yeah ofcourse....

The Baltic Sea is very low salt sea...in fact it's more like a lake so not a whole lot of salt in the sea air here.

Question came to mind...

You get a new car for day-to-day driving, but you have to let either Clarkson, May, or Hammond pick it out and deliver it to you. Who do you want to pick out your car? All three will know that this is a day-to-day driver and won't pick a mad supercar or high-maintenance classic car.

Hmmm...that IS an interesting question...

May would pick something horrid like Dacia Sandero....Hammond would go with some older than jesus british car and Clarkson would probably go with an Alfa which would break down every two miles...

So honestly...I wouldn't want any of them to pick me a daily driver...it sure as heck wouldn't be a good one!

EXACTLY my thought!

But I could see Clarkson going with a Merc or BMW saloon. Hammond would pick a Ford truck. For me, Hammond is out for sure. I'm not a truck guy. But I do usually agree with James May, so I might just put my trust with him.

Clarkson might go with an M3 or an M5 I suppose...but those are bit on the sport car category though so I didn't think about them so much...

Hammond does like his trucks yeah...he just bought one for his new shop too...and a Ford naturally! But trucks aren't really good for daily driving though...

May could also go with some new electric cars though...he's into those...But sadly he might go for a Tesla and those are so shitty...no thanks.

But May could also suggest an Alpine, which he absolutely raves about. I wouldn't mind one of those as a daily driver!
