I personally don't like that whole glass roof thing. I've got a small glass sun roof in mine but I always keep the blind on it because I hate the way the sun shines in...it's very distracting at times. Especially when wearing sun glasses which I always have to wear because of my eyes being so sensitive to light...

I partly agree.  In the midday of summer, I close the blind.  Cloudy days or dusk, I can leave it open.  On pleasant evenings, I have opened the roof.  It all depends on weather conditions and temperature.  Similar to using the side windows, in a way.

Oh that looks nice! I've always liked Lincolns myself. Navigator is a great looking SUV...

Never heard of the Nautilus before though, but it looks rather nice.

The button shifter thing isn't very handy though...I've driven one once (Hyundai) and it takes forever to change...hope that's better in yours.

The Lincoln MKX was renamed to Nautilus in 2019.  Part of the exterior and most of the interior was overhauled for this crossover SUV.  The Navigator you mentioned looks like a Nautilus on steroids.  It is an enormous vehicle with an added 3rd row of seating.

The electronic button shifting does work very fast, no waiting.

What's the story with the vehicle top? Is that a sunroof or adjustable tint glass?

Both really.  The glass extends clear over the rear seats.  The half over the rear seats is fixed.  The front half can slide completely open or slightly tilt to use as a vent.  The whole glass can be covered by a powered interior sliding panel.  Here is a shot of the cluster of buttons above the mirror that runs it all.  The 3 dark buttons in the upper left corner (only 2 are showing in the pic) I programmed to operate my garage doors.  The oval panel at the top of the picture is for storing my sunglasses.

With all these controls overhead I feel somewhat like a pilot rather than a driver.  8)

My goodness, never seen such a great roof equipment! I didn't know you could order garage doors right from the car itself without needing the usual controls, you know, the ones we always lose  :D
but I also have your musical option in my collection !
congrats, beautiful car !

100% agree with the gentleman from Massachusetts. (Quick, make sure the boards didn't just crash! :D ) I don't need the sun directly on top of my head when it's already plenty hot. But when things are cooler It's a good way to get a breeze without having it hit my face, like it does at speed with the window down.

Convertibles involve more commitment to open and shut and impact the structure of the vehicle. Sunroofs are, in my view, a good compromise to get what Jeremy Clarkson described as "93 million miles of enjoyment". Even if it's only cracked open, the fun level goes up on the road.

One of our works vehicles was a Renault Traffic back in the 2000s (obviously a much earlier version). It didn't look as nice as that one!

Thanks Tyr. Most cars in Australia these days are European and Japanese imports. Local manufacturing is no more unfortunately. I was tossing up between a Ford Transit Custom, Peugeot Export and the Renault Traffic. Given manufacturing overseas has slowed due to the pandemic and now the global chip shortage, new cars are in very short supply so it was going to be at least a 6 month wait on both the Transit and Export and this particular Traffic was one of only a few available in my State, so took the plunge and bought it.

No that’s my brother in law. He owns 3 Renault Traffics and took me to see his dealer.

I live in the USA. What's a Renault?

But, yes, good that you got the van when there's so much shortage right now.

Renault/Nissan/Opel is a pretty damn good van. My cousin had a Traffic...it was the older model but it was a good van. He backed it into a trailer though and it got totalled. But it had a good ride and best of all a great big load compartment.

I think you made a good choice. I like the color too. Looks to be the basic model with the black bumpers...or are the some regional differences in that...most sold here have body colored bumpers.

Its more the mid range model. Premium Auto 2.0 Turbo SWB. The model up has keyless entry, alloy wheels and a couple of minor add ons over it. https://www.renault.com.au/build-and-price/build/select-vehicle/

Congratulations, Jack! That's a slick looking van. And yeah, the new car market is hosed everywhere. I've had several offers on my car lately, offering stupid money - so much so I'd sell it in a heartbeat. Except there isn't anything available that I want/can afford. I'd have to order something, with no idea when it would actually arrive. Nope.

Best of luck with the new vehicle, Jack.  If you are getting your band back together, then this thing should be able to haul the equipment, no problem.  :D  Just one thing, it looks like the name on the vehicle is missing an "F".   ???
