The Seamen episode was pretty choppy, but the latest one and the Mongolia adventure were great fun, Mongolia especially.

Even during the Top Year days those specials could be a bit of a hit and miss...but they all had some cracking moments though.

Looking at the list of specials, I see:

I loved them all up to India - that one was a big miss. Back on their horses for finding the source of the Nile, but Burma and Patagonia were disappointing. Namibia by beach buggy was some great fun, but Mozambique was a bit dodgy, even though it had its moments. Colombia was spectacular, Mongolia was fantastic, Seamen a dud, Madagascar not the best but still a good one.

Anyhow... Yes the Argentina incident happened during the Patagonia Special. That was a cracking one.

I remember quite enjoying the India one. The Africa special is probably my favourite...then one with Oliver...that was a real fun ride.

The ones from Namibia onwards are Grand Tour ones already though...not Top Year ( )

Hammond still has Oliver and takes him out for a spin. Makes me kinda wish I had an Oliver, too.

I love seeing what happens to some of the vehicles used to film the specials, more than once the cheapo cars used by the lads have outlasted the fancy new land cruisers the film crew uses.

I've just watched te Pirate / Madagascar episode this morning. That was fun, but oh, those poor cars! Started watching the Seaman / Cambodia episode and gave up after about 20 minutes, I might try again at some point but not now.

The boaty one is a bit miserable, to be sure. Re-watch the Mongolia one and feel good about it all.

Haha! Well not quite as I am using second hand parts for these electronic upgrades...

^^ Vyn's comment reminds me of the old Johnny Cash song, "One Part at a Time".  Hilarious little tune about smuggling parts out of a factory, one at a time, every day for a few years, to build a car for free.

So glad to see that Charger is NOT trying that at home, or he'd have a Frankencar for sure!
