Any chance you might have the vehicle evaluated for residual cocaine before detailing the rest of it? :D

Nah...not a big fan of cocaine...makes me think of Snowblind and you know how I feel about Snowblind so I'd rather detail it away!

So good thing, then that the leather color is more beige than white, or that song would run through your head every time you looked at the seats! :D

Been working just fine thanks bud!

Bought new winter tires and used original BMW alloy wheels for them...sadly one of the wheels was cracked but I got it fixed last week...tomorrow I'm gonna get the tires fitted on the wheels so they'll be ready for me to put on when the need comes. 245/45R18 Nokian R3 studless tires. Should do fine.

Also changed the bootlid opening button as it was pretty warn down:

Also bought a new "Start Stop engine" button but that's a bit more work and needs a lot of removal of plastic parts so best do that when it's warm again so that'll be for the spring.

Mechanically things seems to work pretty well... I do believe I have to change the fuel injectors at some point next year as well...but that's a standard fix for these engines... They cost about 500€ the 6 as a supply part or around 1000€ as original...we'll see... If it's not a lot of work I might just do that myself...saves about a grand in labour I think.

Since the purchase I have driven around 3000km (around 1900miles) been a joy to drive...very nice driver's car this still...even with all the modern tech.

So, last night I had a dream that I was filming a car thing with Jeremy Clarkson in China. I was trying to follow him through some narrow streets and lost sight of him. At an intersection, I asked a local, "Mei guo? Zai nar mei guo?" and all the locals at the intersection would point down one road. I kept going that way, asking that question, and getting that response until I finally caught up to him.

When he asked how we found him, I related the question I asked. When he asked what it meant, I replied, "The American? Where is the American?" :smug:

At that point in my dream, Clarkson laughed heartily and then put me in a headlock and tried to ram my noggin into the gas tank of a nearby vehicle. Fun for all.

:haha4:

Looks like someone has painted over your license plate, might want to have that cleared up before you go driving! :D

That new grill looks quite smart!

Do you plan to blacken any other trim parts?

No need...that was thing. As this is a Shadowline (which means all the exterior trim is glossy black from the factory) but for some totally incomprehensible reason the kidney grills were still in chrome...never understood why. I wanted to unify the look thus getting rid of that chrome. If the window trim would have been in crome (aka chromeline) I probably wouldn't have changed the grills either.

In other car news, the new Grand Tour episode came out last night. Definitely a fun episode, especially when James May's car is overwhelmed with sewage.
