Great to see Glenn on stage! He looks like he is having the time of his life up there again!

Who could have been the guy to play all parts of Glenn including solos and not Faulkner. What a weird idea.

Some names come into my mind:
Roy Z, Marty Friedman, Doug Aldrich, Pat Lachman, Hank Shermann ...

any thoughts ?

Ralph Santolla and Al Pitrelli come to mind right away. Roy Z would have had the obvious connection being a part of Rob's solo band...

Don't think Doug Aldrich would have been a good fit though...he's not really a Priest style guitarist.

http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/ian-hill-lists-reasons-why-k-k-downing-wasnt-asked-to-rejoin-judas-priest/
The KK bashing continues within Judas Priest, this time it is Ian Hill who confides his doubts about the real reasons for Downing to return in the band, his lack of stage performances for years but also his technical abilities to play parts of Glenn. But also his absence on the last 2 albums!?!?
WTF ?
just one thing, fans want KK on stage despite his awkwardness during his supposed insinuations on recorded games of Tipton on Firepower. Whether it ok to Hill or not, KK IS and will remain the icon of Priest with Halford. For the basic fan who knows Priest without having sought to know more in depth the history of the band, He is the Guitarist of Judas Priest. We ,Die-Hard fans, obviously know the important role of Glenn of course as well as the longevity of the most gluedfeet bassist on stage allows him to say certain things but to hold these words is simply embarrassing and disrespectful for the fans and the band. Also note the presence of Faulkner during this interview. Not very glorious from Ian , this musician who wants to look more and more like Geezer. No risk of confusion.
Stop bashing Downing !

Not sure how you could conclude that he bashed Downing? He was asked the question and gave a straight answer. You have to remember Downing officially, retired 8 years ago and was the first to fire a shot at JP. His comment insinuating someone else played Glenn's parts on Firepower were beneath the belt and uncalled for...

Well this is a two part issue I think..

As much as I love KK and his playing he did first come out and ponder why he wasn't asked...although I pondered the same thing. He should have been their first call BUT then again I also understand the bands point of view as Ken did retire.

But bringing his abilities to play into question without knowing anything is a shot under the belt though and totally uncalled for. From what I've gathered KK has been playing guitar constantly when ever he's had the spare time so I doubt his abilities to play have diminished in any way...BUT then again he would have had to learn all of Glenn's parts whose playing style is different.

Also ofcourse the main reason for KK leaving in the first place was Jayne Andrews...it was clear that those two did not see eye to eye on things...I doubt that fact has changed over the years either.

He only said that K.K. wouldn't be at the peak of his powers considering he hasn't set foot on a stage in 8 years which is a fair comment. He'd be more than a little rusty.

I find K.K's comment to be a bit bizarre tbh considering when he retired he asked the band to not try and persuade him to come back. I don't think he had any desire to play with them even if asked...As Ian said, he was being a bit mischievous!

K.K. will apparently be performing with Ross The Boss(legendary Manowar guitarist) at UK's Bloodstock Open Air festival on August 11. I assume they'll be playing mostly early Manowar material and maybe some Priest songs.

Seems a bit out of the blue and a slightly odd pairing. Still be interesting to see and hear K.K playing again. Has been too long  :guitar:

I'm looking forward to hearing KK play again... There has been no mention on who the rest of the band are gonna be...I would love to see Tim do the vocals but I doubt that'll happen...that guy is just bit too busy at the moment.

It'll just be Ross The Boss's regular touring band of virtual unknowns.

KK proving here 10 years off stage means nothing to some people:

Great seeing KK back on stage. He sounded great too. Seems a no brainer he gets his gig back in Priest, especially with their 50th Anniversary celebration next year. The man's still got it.

My thoughts exactly... But sadly there's so much bad blood between Priest and KK nowadays I can't honestly see it happening though...I'd love to see it happen but....
