I had to dig up my old Glow-In-The-Dark Ozzy shirt and wear it to work tonight.

Current listening - "Spiral Architect"

A fitting epitaph, a hail and farewell, for the legend.

His death is a massive news story here in the UK, of course it was always going to be mentioned and have some analysis, but it's still the opening news story on the BBC 1 news at 1pm. I can't think of anyone else getting this sort of coverage outside the death of the Queen.

Not to be flippant about the Queen, but I remember the coverage when Freddie Mercury died, as well. When there's a beloved performer passing, the coverage is multiplied when people from different parts of life resonate with an "I feel that way, too" response. It's humanizing. Painful, but good that we have this way of processing our love for the work the artist did.

I'm told that Ozzie's final memoir, Last Rites, is set for release in October.

I don't know the details, but being the body building athletic type, I'm surprised.

Report said he passed away in his sleep, with his loved ones nearby.

Bittersweet, but I feel good about being able to pass away where those still alive are near to comfort each other.

Just saw this as well...

I can remember enjoying some of his films.

89 is a very respectable age!

RIP Bob Red - I didn't realize he was still kicking around. The man was certainly in a lot of movies!

Dame Patricia Routledge passed last night at 96. She was famous for her role as Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced bouquet) in "Keeping Up Appearances". But she was also a treat in any of her other many roles on stage and screen.

I do hope she's able to have one ghostly whisper to the hearse driver, "Mind the pedestrians!" :)
