Saddened to hear about the passing of actor VAL KILMER.

He was one of those actors that could play the bad guy and the good guy very well. That's not something everyone can do.

He was just 65 years old.

Yes, very sad news.

Great actor. 65 is too young but hadn't been in great health since his cancer diagnosis in 2014.

His cameo in Top Gun: Maverick was one of the better moments.

Val Kilmer a true loss, I'm sad with that news.

I think I shall watch TOMBSTONE in honor of mr. Kilmer. Haven't seen that one since the 90s...

I have always thought Val did a great job portraying the Doc as he suffered from TB.

On this day in 1955, Albert Einstein died. There has been a little contention about his last words, but experts agree it was one of three things (all in German, of course):

1. I'm thirsty...

2. That nurse has a very fine ass.

3. Don't ever elect anyone named Trump as president of the USA.

He was a wise, witty man. Also a thirsty guy.

Pope has died. He sure chose a good day for it...will be well remembered even by non fantatic catholics...

He was 88 years old and been quite ill for the past few months.

I'm not Catholic so have never really followed the popes over time, but they are such a big deal - even in this day and age - a person would have to live under a rock not to be familiar with certain things. In his case, I always got the sense that he was more of a "people person" than a "policy and ritual person".

The first pope I remember with any clarity is Paul VI. The I recall another guy became pope but then according to Wikipedia he died 33 days later, after which John Paull II took the helm. I recall the 33-day pope, but couldn't remember why it was so short - always just thought they fucked up some ritual or sent the wrong colored smoke when they selected him and so he had to step down. Didn't pay enough attention at the time to know he had actually died.

Hoping the next pope is named Chad or Alan. Maybe D'Money or Snoop Diggity Bang.

I remember the 33-day pope, John Paul. The comedian Jasper Carrot (friend of Mr Iommi) made the observation that Birmingham City FC - - having a bit of a slump at the time - were the only football team not to score a goal during the reign of the pope!

I remember being disappointed that John Paul II chose that name rather than the more obvious George Ringo!

My older cat Nellie (yes she was named after the little helicopter thingy from a certain Bond film) passed away today...it was sudden, although she had been bit ill already for a while. But the ending came quickly. One minute she was walking about the next gone.

But peaceful and sudden death is ofcourse always preferred.

She would have turned 18 this fall so she had a nice long life.
