Better news, Christian Eriksen has been stabalised in hospital and is apparently awake.


This is so reminiscent of when Fabrice Muamba playing for Bolton against Spurs in the FA Cup about 9 years ago. He collapsed on the pitch and would probably have died if they weren't playing at Spurs (a major heart hospital virtually next door) and a cardiologist in the stand who was able to instantly assist. It was after this that Muamba campaigned to have defibulators in all stadiums.

Wow, they've restarted the game. That has to be tough on both teams but particularly Denmark. It might give them a lift though. Hopfully both teams can make a decent fist of it.

The match did continue...all players wished so...Shows great spirit.

And great news that Erikson survived...It will be interesting to find out what happened...and hopefully he can make a full recovery what ever it was.

But truth be told if the Eriksen thing hadn't happened...who knows...things might have been quite different...Although during the first 20 minutes of the second half Denmark played just as well as they did before the incident...but after the goal they kind of lost the plot...one too many hit for the team maybe...who knows...

But no matter what this is a match that will be remembered for a long time.

Yes, Finland defended well, but Denmark were toothless in attack. Finland took their chance when it came but really Schmeichel should have saved it! Also it shouldn't have been a penalty, so the fact it was saved was kinda justice.

You do reallise that a point against Russia means Finland will almost certainly progress to the last 16! Perhaps Finland will be this tournaments Iceland!

Yeah...I know...it pretty damn crazy...it is more than possible that we will proceed....never in a million years would I have thought that...the only way we won't is if Denmark wins both Russia and Belgium and I find that hard to believe...russia yes but based on what I saw from Belgium...not them...no way.

The match probably shouldn’t have resumed until tomorrow. Can’t imagine how hard that would’ve been on the Danish team.

That's a shame. I guess the 17:00 and 20:00 BST kick-offs are overnight in Australia (02:00 / 05:00 ACT?). The 14:00 kickoffs (23:00 ACT) might be doable but if you're working the following morning that's not really an option either.

Yeah could catch a half for a 11pm start game but they usually schedule the shittier games at that time.

That's good to know. I don't know the extent at our other sporting venues, but I think they're everywhere now in the UK. Even my local railway station which is a minor station at best has one in the entrance hall.
