Well, I'm back. Rather, WE are back. It was the BEST TIME. More later, I'm not taking her home until tomorrow...

Uhhh... I hope it's not because I said to take no prisoners and this is something that winds up on a local news story... :D

My dude, if news stories ran that discussed two people who knew each other for years, but never in a million and one half years (and two days) had the slightest clue of the breadth, depth, and intensity of not simply the feelings two people could have for one another, but that they would, in fact, become swept up in the vortex of a love beyond Shakespearian proportions, then this shit would be international news.

But they don't, and I'm really cool with that :)

Rented a cabin in the woods, got some great pictures, ate some good food in local establishments, learned the history of Eureka Springs, travelled by train, saw a very architecturally unusual chapel made mostly of glass, saw some more sites, laughed a lot (we were sitting on a bench at one point and a guy older than us hobbled by and stated we were having too much fun), hung out at the cabin. All in all it was a heck of a good time. Even the four and a half hour drive there and back was a good time.

We went in a record store there. She bought a record - doesn't have a turntable, but I guess the band (Michael Stanely Band) was HUGE in Ohio where she's from. A couple of months ago she bought me drink coasters made out of the labels from records. Holy shit, I'm in love.

Eureka Springs is a fun place, for sure!

I'm glad that the only things captured were hearts. No felony kidnapping charges when that happens. :smug:

So happy for you Vyn. Have a great getaway. You deserve it  :)

Before I forget and your post recedes into the back pages of this thread - thank you!

I've got a lot of decades behind me, a lot of experiences, a lot of fails, a lot of wins. Name pretty much anything and I've been there or close enough to know not go there. And sometimes I went anyway :)

But the universe had a lesson for me these past six months. One I didn't even realize I needed to learn. But damned if it didn't knock my ass plumb off with it.

Cheers Jack - hope all is great with you!

T and I went to dinner last night with a group of folks we both have known for years. From where we used to work.

We've done this a couple of times - this time, one of the ladies we had worked with had a friend tag along. She introduced her, but I can't remember her name. Something like, "Lillyleehanna," was odd. She looked at me and said I looked familiar - and yeah, she looked familiar to me as well. Could not place her. Still can't. Weird feeling - it can't have been from anywhere recent, like the past ten years or so. T didn't recognize her.

Was in a bar in my mid 20s, maybe around 2am (this was a 3 o'clock place), some gal came up to me and just started asking me questions like she knew me. I mean questions that only someone who knew me would have been able to ask. No idea who she was - I just went with it. Last call hit and I cut out.

Back when I was maybe 19, in COLLEGE, I was walking outside of one of the buildings (NOT carrying an empty Jack Daniels bottle) and this gal came walking up real fast, gave me a hug, asked how I'd been doing and it was great to see me. I had no fucking clue who she was. So I just went with it. Said I was great, asked what she'd been up to, then we split. Never did figure out who she was.

Why does this shit happen to me? Anyone else run into that kind of thing? It's always women too. WTF?

Maybe you have a pleasant face and it conjures up feeling like people know you even if they don't.

That has NEVER happened to me...but then again I am so ugly that people would never EVER confuse me with someone else...nor do people just come up to me and talk anyways...that has never happened either.

I don't have random people recognizing me, but I do often wind up in conversations I didn't expect and having a lovely time with interesting dinners or discussions in the park.

This Monday night L7 is playing in Boston.  They are currently on what they are calling their "Last Hurrah World Tour".  Being a member of their fan club, I was sent the schedule a couple of weeks ago and had planned on going with the Meet & Greet package.  However, I dilly-dallied in purchasing the ticket, and now I see the Meet & Greet is sold out.  Damn fool!   :squint:

I like a lot of what L7 put out - I believe there is a saying about snoozing = losing :)

That is the most cogent answer to my question I believe I've heard. Could be.
