100% serious about that.

As much as I'd like to take that compliment, I think...I think there has been a misunderstanding. I didn't create this tool, haha, it has been extant for a while, I just now decided to try it out and discovered -it's- greatness :)

Does the proxy provide SD-WAN and WAF capabilities?

And I don't even know what you guys are talking about so I guess I am the opposite of greatness.

Well, I got laid off today. About a month before they were supposed to pay out the year-end bonuses, too.

Well, that blows! I know you had mentioned things were looking fucked at that place - that's a real jackhole move on their part. I hope they cut you some kind of farewell check, at least. Jeez.

Thankfully, I did get a severance payment of about a month's salary. So that's something. And I did respond to one recruiter a few days ago out of some interest in an offer and I have an interview on Monday to chat about it.

Thanks for the kind words and, yes, Thel, I do hope I find better. It's out there. :)

Applying for unemployment benefits is my next to-do and the other two fired the same day as me will be meeting before we sign anything, as the employer may not have done due diligence in letting us go. There were no negative performance appraisals or improvement plans and they're hiring other people to the team at the same time as letting us go, so it's not a reduction in force. Myself and one of the other people are over 50 and I've got a disability and they want to handle federal contracts, so that jackwagon move might cost them more than a month of severance.

Shove it up their ass sideways, Z!

Er, I mean, that sounds like a case with merit and I wish you and your compatriots the best as you pursue justice for the wrongdoing that has been laid upon you.

I'm not an attorney, but my recent experience with Texas employment laws, from the perspective of an employer, is that if you don't treat your people right the state will make you pay for it. We haven't had to go down that road but our legal counsel has made it clear that Texas does not fool around when it comes to wrongful termination suits, and not in the favor of employers. We've had to terminate three people in the past few years, each time for cause, and even then we made certain it was done not only by the book but in the spirit of the book.

All that to say: even though Texas is an "at will" state, booting someone out for no reason is risky. Doing so while at the same time hiring new people seems to me to be extra-bonus risky. And doing all of that when the people involved are part of a protected class...seems like they want their bottom line to take a massive hit.
