Probably Hammer Studios weakest film.  Weak story, weak effects. 3/10

Not the biggest of Superhero movie fans but I did really like Spider Man as a kid. Also I am a fan of Sam 'Evil Dead' Raimi as
a movie maker. Very good acting by most of the cast and I think I like this one the best of all the Spider Movies that have come out in the last 20 years or so. 8/10

In Paris in 1931, an orphan named Hugo Cabret, who lives in the walls of a train station, is wrapped up in a mystery involving his late father and an automaton.  Visually stunning. 7.5/10

Even better than the first movie this was a great adventure story true to the spirit of the Comics even if not necessarily the exact recreations. 8.5/10

Jewish brothers in Nazi-occupied Eastern Europe escape into the Belarussian forests, where they join Russian resistance fighters, and endeavor to build a village, in order to protect themselves and about one thousand Jewish non-combatants.  Based on actual events and well done. 8/10

The Stranger - a great potboiler of a film, Orson Welles' only box office hit. Acting between the three leads is top-shelf stuff and the supporting actors do their job right, as well. Cinematography is amazing.

Far better than the reviews would have you believe it was still a by the numbers mob/cop movie. Some good acting by the two leads Chow Yun-fat and Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg made the film a strong statement of corruption and loyalty. 7.5/10

The lives of several couples and singles in New York City intertwine over the course of New Year's Eve.  I did not care about anyone in the film.  Maybe if it were New Year's Eve when I watched it, then I would have felt different.  Then again, maybe not. 4/10

That's one of many movies that I see the trailer for and go, "Meh. Never gonna see that one." Pretty much that's the case unless my wife fires it up on a satellite movie channel. And then I pretty much do something else while it plays and confirms my decision to not watch it. :)

A working-class Italian-American bouncer becomes the driver of an African-American classical pianist on a tour of venues through the 1960s American South.  A true story brilliantly done. 8.5/10

This was as great as I remembered it. Top class actors all around. Connery was exceptional. 9/10
