Won some money from couple of slots so treated myself with a vinyl purchase!

This is a numbered edition of the Original 2007 pressing of DARK PASSION PLAY.






And got a pretty low number of 49 too!




This was never officially released in Finland and was at the time I think only available through Nuclear Blast's own store...
I tried to find out how many of these were made but no official number was given but it's somewhere between 1000 and 2000.

I did pay bit over the market price on this one as they are cheaper on Ebay but on the other hand this was a low number and no risk of transport damage...as the album is in Ex condition with no marks on the vinyl nor the cover.

That got me to do some searching... looks like the casinos in Finland are run by a state monopoly. https://intermin.fi/en/police/gambling

Interesting... certainly a different approach to what I've seen in the industry.

Yeah... We've got two major monopolys here.

Gambling (Veikkaus) and liquor (Alko) both are ancient and remnants of old socialist ways.

And I do my best to avoid both. I buy my booze from Germany (a HELL of a lot cheaper and I don't support the government monopoly) and I play on european casino sites.

Interesting that in the stated desire to control and limit damage from those activities, the government policies instead guide people towards loopholes.

I think it's the blatant hypocrisy of it all...

In case of the Casinos the say they want to prevent gambling related problems and yet lower the winning percentages of every game in order to make more money.

Same goes for the booze. They increase taxes on them all the time because they know people buy booze regardless and just again make more money.

No matter what the area monopoly is always a BAD BAD thing!

Well, here's hoping they don't get into state-sponsored brothels. Those are a real mess in Netherlands... and then there was the Chinese opium monopoly that was their primary source of income for the Republic of China until 1949.

I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a vinyl package like that...Usually nowadays these special edition vinyl packages include a t-shirt and/or laminates and picks...this is something truly special!

The new CATHEDRAL vinyl just arrived today!




The clear vinyl was limited to 100 copies only and all were sold out on the day of the release so I was very lucky to get my hands on one!

This is most likely the last ever "new" track released by Cathedral. This was recorded during the Last Spire album sessions but because of it's length (29min44sec) it wasn't put on the album...they recently found the recording and thought it would be suitable for a stand alone release!
So the album only contains that one track...split in to for the vinyl.

It is some epic doom for sure!

The track is called SOCIETY's PACT WITH SATAN!
