I have a business idea... :smug: No, wait, I'd rather not commit massive fraud on high-end hi-fi customers... :(

It took a little longer than I thought, but my records from Goldmine Records in Victoria arrived:

Interestingly enough, I paid for Amyl & the Sniffers, The Chats, and Scientists, yet when I opened the package out popped four records and a sticker. More interesting is that the fourth record is a Black Sabbath record.

Sprinkling some more "interesting" on it, that Sabbath record is one that I did not have.

So, either the guys at the record store were overcome with generosity when my order hit, or I owe Jack a debt of gratitude!

That's pretty damn cool!

Well that is cool. I’m both happy and relieved you didn’t have that one. Apparently a very good sounding and manufactured record from what I’ve heard. Let us know how it sounds.

Goldmine was much appreciative of your business too Vyn.

Thank you Jack - that was a thoughtful gesture that I appreciate. It made my day!

It has quite the professional polish to it. There's nothing about it that would indicate it was unauthorized, and I've got plenty of major label, big name releases whose manufacturing quality are shit compared to this.

The music itself, of course it's Sabbath so it's good. The mixing and engineering on these tunes really brings out the energy they had in 1970. Without a doubt they rocked hard! And if anyone ever doubts that Bill Ward could tear up a drum set, all they need to do is listen to his playing on this recording: the jazz-inflected timing and sensibilities of Ginger Baker melded with the machine-like energy of Tommy Clufetos on crystal meth.

You hit it out of the park with your selection, thanks again!

Hmmm... you could do with a bit more spend on you listening room, there! I can recommend a turntable that costs just a bit less than a fully-stocked Lambo, and it's so good, you'll tell everyone how much you spent on it!

Now some Death Penalty just arrived!

The double vinyl album in see through red (limited edition) and two colored 7" singles (all non album tracks) also limited editions. Only 500 of each printed. I was lucky to get these..There isn't many left anymore...

In case you don't know Death Penalty was a band created by Cathedral guitarist Gaz Jennings with Serpencult singer Michelle Nocon back in 2013. Sadly they only released this single album...but oh boy is this album SUBERB or what!?

Found this old Record Store Day Special picture disc on sale for just 10€ so I went and bought it...why not...?

I've got a few of these picture discs now...I'm thinking about making a bit of a display case for them to mount on the wall...

How are you guys displaying your picture discs?

That's a pretty cool Dio picture disk.

Oddly, I only have five picture disks. I have an area on one of my walls where I display records, sometimes I'll drop a picture disk there. Currently it's just four albums and two without covers (an old 81 rpm Edison record and a Ted Nugent acetate).

Sorry for the glare, I just jumped up from my desk and took that with my phone.
