You've got pretty much everything by Savatage on vinyl at this point?

Poets And Madmen is the final album to still come out on Vinyl...I'm expecting that to come out next month. Maybe Ghost In The Ruins Live but I'm not sure if that belongs to this reissue package.

But yes I have everything that's come out so far...only missed the colored vinyl of The Dungeons Are Calling...that's only plain black...and I'm bit gutted about that actually...  :-\

Arrivals in the past few weeks have been

Ozzy - Patient Number 9 Marbled Red & Black vinyl
Ozzy - Patient Number 9 LTD Todd McFarlane alternate cover Black Vinyl
Ozzy - Patient Number 9 LTD Todd McFarlane alternate cover Blue Swirl vinyl
Savatage - Dead Winter Dead LTD Red vinyl
Savatage - Wake of Magellan LTD Transparent Orange Vinyl

The reason I have 3 Ozzy’s is that they released the alternate cover a few few weeks after I preordered it then a couple of weeks after that released the blue swirl edition  :wall:

I’m a sucker for coloured vinyl

Not sure if you’re interested Vyn but Amazon US  is selling the new Celtic Frost boxset for a good price. I’ve already ordered it via Amazon AU

Finally got the DEATH ANGEL live stream album THE BASTARD TRACKS. I got bit lucky as there was ONE copy of the limited edition (300) splatter double vinyl left and I snatched it...and it was even on sale!

Nice score!

Today, I had two records show up:

A test pressing of Josiah's We Lay on Cold Stone and the black vinyl version of Wo Fat's The Singularity. Action shots while sitting at my desk :) The test pressing came with a handmade screen print of the cover from the commercial release.

At this point I've listened to them both once, and I'm not familiar with them enough to talk about individual songs yet. So what follows is my initial impression.

If I consider the totality of all music I enjoy, I'd put We Lay on Cold Stone in the bottom quarter, and The Singularity in the top half.

More specifically, Wo Fat's release has moments of awesomeness and very few moments of mehness. Overall a solid release that I'll listen to again.

Josiah's release was mostly meh, with a few instances where it picked up to "that's pretty good" level, and a couple that had me wondering when the song was going to finally end.

I doubt I'll be listening to it again, but sometimes I get in a mood, so who knows.

For reference, I find Dopesmoker by Sleep to be annoyingly dull, so anything that veers toward that style is not my thing. Josiah seemed to remind me of that more often than not, whereas Wo Fat had an energy to it that that set it apart.

There's more blues and boogie in Wo Fat's sound, for sure. I'd recommend The Black Code as a strong offering in that field, my favorite of their releases thus far.

The last of the SAVATAGE Vinyl reissues arrived today and now the collection is complete.

I was hoping they would have done Ghost In The Ruins as well though...
