Discovering Stillness
« on: June 05, 2020, 01:09:35 PM »
I came across this just a few minutes ago and only listened to 10 mins before a meeting started (yes, I'm in that meeting now, but we're waiting for someone). But he sounded so peaceful, I want to listen to him some more. Some words he said are resonating with me - "If you want to make whole, be whole."

I had enough time between pausing at that moment and the meeting's start to go hug a tree in my yard - and as I did, I looked up to see a squirrel looking back at me, maybe 3 feet away, if that much. Lovely moment, that.

I was attempting to create some zen for my workbench by getting a bench mat. While browsing online for said mat, I came across one that blew my mind. Of course I had to share. The dichotomy between John Butler's placid philosophy, and the completely over-the-top nature of the design on this mat is so salient that it hurts. It is made by Tekmat if anyone is dying to buy one:

CONTRAST, yes, very much so!

Dude, that Eagle is totally badass, about to fire that weapon without the recoil spinning him around like a pinwheel in a hurricane!

I'm guessing, though, that the image is mostly symbolic. :) I've never actually seen Trump with a WWE championship belt on, for example.

Anyway, there's a part 2 of the interview. :)
