A biographical film about the 1970s teenage all-girl rock band.  Believable performances highlight the relationship between band members.  Good soundtrack as well.  8.5/10

I saw that years ago and I must agree that it is a great movie with an even better soundtrack.

THE FUGITIVE

Harrison Ford stars as Dr. Richard Kimble who gets wrongly charged and convicted for the murder of his wife gets a chance to prove his innocence when the prisoner transport crashes.
Tommy Lee Jones is a relentless US Marshall Sam Gerald tasked to finding the fugitive regardless of his guilt or innocence...but as the case goes on and Kimble manages to find evidence of his innocence even Gerald begins to change his mind.

A fantastic adaptation of a 60s tv classic with an amazing cast.

Harrison Ford shines as Kimble and Tommy Lee Jones manages to even outshine Ford. His academy award was more than well earned.

Great script and the movie goes on like a train under Andrew Davis' direction.

It is hard to believe this movie masterpiece turns 30 years old soon...

A interesting Hammer summertime movie about a veteran archaeologist and his 2 companions who, through circumstances that I won't reveal here, find an ancient lost city in Africa where a beautiful woman is the immortal ruler.  Great story, fine acting, gorgeous women.  This is why I am a fan of Hammer films.  9/10

This Documentary exposes the method that was used to stuff ballot boxes with illegal votes in order to sway the 2020 U.S. Presidential election.  By using cell phone ping data, people are tracked committing illegal acts, much of which is also recorded on video surveillance.  The democrats said that this was the most secure election in U.S. history.  The film proved it was the most unsecure election in U.S. history.  Hopefully some day this wrong will be made right.  9/10

Good Australian made film about a married guy who plans to run off with his younger and also married girlfriend, when the time is right.  But things get complicated.  Great story with a couple of good twists mixed in. 9/10

Dog - 97mins (12A) Dir Channing Tatum

Starring Channing Tatum and a Belgian Malinois named Lulu (they look pretty much like Alsatians'). The story covers a road trip down the Pacific coast to attend the funeral of Lulu's former handler. Briggs (Tatum) -- an injured Army Ranger looking to get the all clear to return to duty -- is tasked with taking the unruly dog to the funeral where the family have requested the dogs presence.

The story covers the strained relationship between the two, Lulu often having to be muzzled, and ripping up Brigg's truck when she's not! It's supposed to be a comedy, but it's more light hearted than laugh out loud funny. It's a pretty good film, not outstanding but passed 90 minutes or so quite pleasantly. 7/10

Minions: The Rise of Gru 90 mins

The second Minions film, which are spin-offs from the Despicable Me series. Again it stars the voice of Steve Carrell as the voice of Gru, Pierre Coffin as all the Minions, with Julie Andrews and Russel Brand reprising their roles as Gru's Mom and Dr Nefario. New characters are voiced by Alan Arkin, Taraji P Henson, Michelle Yeoh, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Danny Trejo, Dolph Lundgren and Lucy Lawless.

In the first film Gru becomes the owner of the minions, now setup in a lab at home Gru hopes to join a gang of villains called The Vicious Six when a vacancy comes up. He's 12 and they reject his application. He steals a pendant they have just acquired which would allow them to develop great powers. Long story short Gru is kidnapped and threatened with death unless the pendant is returned which is where the minions come in.

The humour is very much the slap stick style from the earlier films. It's quite funny in places and a new minion called Otto is introduced who is fat... so I can relate!. The story is simple and colourful. Personally, of the various films in the franchise the original Despicable Me is still by far the best. 7/10

Yeah, it looks like you get what's advertised, no more no less. I agree the first one was the best.

Interesting story of a scientist who develops a device that can enter a person's memories.  When he is tasked with entering a convicted criminal's mind to see whether he committed a murder, things get unexpectedly complicated. 8.5/10

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

Wonderful love story about a nerdy loner who finds himself caught up in events and married unexpectedly out of obligations, not mutual love or extensive pre-planning. His wife feels trapped in living a life without love, so the husband forms a rather complicated plan to bring love into both of their lives. It's a charming movie and makes for an excellent introduction to Bollywood romantic comedies.

I give it 8 for 10, Yash Raj Films makes some wonderful, sweet love stories. Yes, there's a little corn here and there, but the storytelling is wonderful with dazzling item numbers adding to the joy.

Thor: Love and Thunder 125mins

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Taika Waititi (who also directed) and Tessa Thompson. There are a shedload of cameos (The Guardians of the Galaxy cast, Russell Crowe as Zeus, Matt Damon, Sam Neil, Luke Hemsworth and Melissa McCarthy as thespian versions of Loki, Odin, Thor and Hera respectively)!

The fourth instalment in the Thor franchise sees the return of Natalie Portman's Jane as Thor's Ex who is dying of cancer. In this film she's found she has the ability to wield the repaired Mjolnir which makes Thor jealous, but he still has feelings for Jane. The villain here is Christian Bales' Gorr the God killer... who is doing just that!

As with the previous instalment (Thor: Ragnarok), there is a lot of humour, including some laugh out loud moments (look out for the giant screaming goats!). The story is perhaps a little less engaging, it doesn't really seem to fit in with any other MCU films, but then since Endgame none of the MCU output has really seemed to fit into any over arching story. Maybe it will all come together in later films. Even so this is a really enjoyable film if not quite at the top of their game. 8/10

I'll rank this at around 11 in the MCUs 29 films, there's so many it's difficult to rank them now, but it is the top 5 and then the next 9 and so on.

DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS

A traveller from another universe lands in New York with a rather interesting looking monster behind her and this leads Dr Strange to a rather strange adventure through the multitude of the multiverse. Strange soon discovers that an old ally has turned enemy and a fight of might and magic begins through several universes.

This is probably one of the weirdest of all the Marvel Movies but in a very good way...this also provides few seriously cool surprises along the way...including the return of a character that I could not have predicted in a million years...

Horror master Sam Raimi brings a whole new dimension to the Marvel movies and also erases the horrors of his Spiderman movies. This is what a true Sam Raimi superhero movie should look like!
There are about a gazillion little references to the Evil Dead movies including a small (but brilliant) two part cameo of non other than mr. Bruce Campbell himself!

This was marketed as a Marvel horror movie and there most certainly are several horror elements in the movie but it's not like it's gory or scary but it is different and extremely entertaining.

Benedict Cumberbatch shines as Dr Strange and the newcomer Xochitl Gomez is actually very good as the multiverse traveller....but the real star of the show is Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff who oozes desperation and sadness like no other character in Marvel history.

A short mid credit scene promises more of Strange and I'm all for it.
