Another trip around the sun...

Well, as we make ready to change calendars, it's good to take stock of the year behind us. Hopefully, you've got some time off to sit, think, reflect, and count blessings and other small victories of the past year. No worry for anything that might overshadow - we're all overshadowed by things bigger than any of us. But, the shadow often breaks for a moment and some light lands on us, be it a friendly smile, a kind word, or a good friend. And the light lands on us whether we give or receive of those things.

For me, it's Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It's a grand thank-you to all the people on this forum for being a friend to me. A friend is not someone who agrees all the time. A friend is quite often someone that will never see eye-to-eye with you on some things, but is in full agreement that friendship is much, much more than that. Friendship is in sharing difficult news, it's in providing a listening ear - or listening eye, if you're online, and it's in seeking out someone to share a laugh with you.

Thank you friends, and may we be together come the next time we collectively observe another trip around the sun.

I don't have much to be merry about nor will there be a happy new year but there is something I am grateful for and that is you lot and this place.

Like zzz said we don't always see eye to eye on everything and quite often that can be considered a good thing. Where'd be the fun in "yes sir" society? Nowhere, that's where!

I consider each and everyone here a friend. I don't have many friends "in the real world" so having you means a whole lot.

I want to throw in a special shout out to Tyr66 who is also going through stuff and might feel bit lonely and bluesy just like me. Take care my friend and remember we're all here for you!


I don't know what 2020 will bring...probably nothing good...but it is bit easier to take in all the shit when you have a place like this. 

Ps: Damn that was hard to write...took me twice as long with this keyboard!

Well, at least 2020 for you won't have any more of that keyboard-killing brew from Pori! Or if it does, it will be far, far away from your PC, where it can do no harm!

One thing I know for sure will be that 2020 will bring sunrise and sunset and the rest of life's rhythms.

With 40 minutes of 2010s left I have to say...it's been a decade of utter misery and sadness...Starting ofcourse with the loss of Ronnie...

Will 2020 be any better? I seriously doubt it.

But I will have this place...well I hope I will have this place...that ofcourse is not certain either me being what I am and all...
