The Cowboys, showing the world the practical implementation of the old adage "shit in one hand, wish in the other, and see which one fills up first".

Oh yeah, Chiefs won!

I recorded it to fast forward through it and quit watching even that when the Eagles put 17 on the boards. Hope Jason Garrett has a fresh copy of the classifieds...

It took Jerry Jones a full week after the Cowboys season was done to fire Jason Garrett. Apparently Garrett had been pleading his case to Jones all week long while they were interviewing candidates in the background. Jerry finally releases a statement in the last qtr of the Eagles v Seahawks playoff game confirming that they were parting ways with Garrett. What a strange way of doing things. At least hie”s finally gone now though.

Going to be really interesting who Jones appoints as the new head coach. Personally I’d like Josh McDaniels but don’t think thats gonna happen.

Still on the Ravens from here....

Jack hid himself away until after this past weekends' games so he wouldn't have to give his predictions.  He was afraid of me beating him as I did last year.   :))

Given the upsets I don’t think any of us would’ve done too well.

Was an enthralling wildcard round though.

So we are down to 8... Let’s put our money where our mouths are shall we?

Divisional Round

49ers over Vikings

Ravens over Titans

Chiefs over Texans

Packers over Seahawks

Looks pretty straightforward this weekend but if there is to be an upset I think it will be Seattle beating Green Bay.

Also, unbeknownst to me when I’d awoken this morning and posted the Cowboys had already appointed Mike McCarthy as its new head coach.

I think he’s a decent appointment without being too cock-a-hoop about it, but he was the best available of the experienced Super Bowl winning coaches.

I agree with all those picks of Jack's.

And, yes, Garrett got fired during the game he was supposed to be coaching the Cowboys in. Kinda knife-twisty, but that's life in the big city. And then McCarthy gets hired the next day, pretty much, so we've got the new chapter started off.

Only coaching opening left is with the Browns. Anyone here interested in that job?

Wow! A big upset brewing in the Ravens V Titans game. Titans have dominated the Ravens from the get-go and hold a 28-6 lead at 3qtr time.

...And just like that the no 1 seed is out and the Titans are off the AFC championship game.

By the end of today we'll know who all is playing in the championship games. Wasn't too surprised to see the Titans win, even though the Ravens have been a powerhouse. But lately the Titans have been a football machine.

The 49ers? I didn't expect that one.

49ers have been playing some tight ball, and they proved they could run that thing yesterday. Ravens going out was a shock, and the Titans are totes legit as contenders, no fluke here.

For the record (no, not a reference to Vyn's avatar, just in general), I think the 49ers would also have beaten the Saints, had that team advanced. The Squared Sevens did it before a few weeks ago, and they could have done it again. They're the better team this year.

Looking at today, the Chiefs and Packers are tough, and made tougher at home. I like the Texans and the Seahawks, they've had strong seasons and overcame obstacles, but I think this is where their train comes to the end of the line this year.

Houston tears it up in the first four minutes of the game, putting 24 unanswered points on the board. Kansas City couldn't seem to hold on to the ball, and were being their own worst enemy. Come the second quarter, the Chiefs decided they were actually in a playoff game and proceeded to score 51 points.

Looks like the Titans will be facing the Chiefs next week.

I'm going with Chiefs and 49ers winning next week and advancing to the Super Bowl. Should be LOTS of fun! :drama:

Yeah I’m going the same. Should make for a great Super Bowl. A team with a great defensive unit and methodical offense  against an explosive unpredictable offense.

Gentlemen, I concur. If the Chiefs advance to the Super Bowl, the folks in Kansas City are going to lose their shit...and I think not only will they advance, they will win it.

The sidelines have changed quite a lot since SB IV, when Len Dawson could do this in between sets...

You're right, the sidelines, and social mores, have changed considerably :)
