I don't know much anything about the Aussie team...honestly I kind of thought they'd be around the same level as the men's team but clearly that's not the case. Looks like they've played an excellent tournament so far. So yes I wouldn't be surprised at all if they'd find themselves in the finals.

They’re on a different level to the men’s team in that they have a lot more world class players in the team that are playing for the biggest clubs in Europe and England. Chelsea, Arsenal, Real Madrid etc and they have Sam Kerr who is ranked the #2 Female player in the world and has won multiple golden boots in the two biggest Women’s leagues in the world.

If he didn't go this summer I don't think he would ever go. He's 30 now, but I thought he would end up at Man Utd rather than Bayern Munich. He is within touching distance of Alan Shearer's all time Premiere League goal scoring record, he won't get to that figure now.

I was very surprised at that move. I was rather certain that if he'd leave Tottenham he'd still stay in the UK...very surprised indeed to see him go to Germany...

Sweden and Spain go through to the Semi-Finals, both winning 2-1 against Japan and Netherlands respectively. I only caught the end of the Sweden / Japan match and Japan were all over Sweden, missing a penalty along the way. The commentary team did say they were a different team from the first half!

Tomorrow it's France vs Australia and England vs Colombia. The first game could go either way, France are higher ranked, but home advantage for Australia must play a part. On paper England should beat Colombia, but will it be the England team that showed up against China (a 6-1 win) or Nigeria (rubbish performance). We shall see.

The Dutch were stiff. That penalty that got overturned on VAR was ridiculous. They had the better of the chances in the 2nd half and injury time but couldn’t finish. Japan had a disappointing first half while Sweden was ultra impressive and deserved the win in the end.

Fingers are crossed for the Matilda’s tomorrow. The whole country is behind them. Would be shocked if England doesn’t beat Colombia.

England 2-1 winners over Colombia setting up whats going to be an epic semi final against Australia for a place in the World Cup final.

Except for the China game I haven't really felt that the real England team have turned up. Hopefully the Matilda's will bring out the best in them!

England will wanna be at their best to best the Matilda's.

Australia was actually the last team to beat England. 2-0 in London back in April ending their 30 game unbeaten run.

So the first team to make the final is Spain, they beat Sweden 2-1 with all 3 goals coming in the final 10 minutes. I thought Spain looked quite good.

Yeah Spain have been solid all the way through this world cup and are deserved finalist.

Now we just need the Matilda’s through.

@Kilo we need to start a an EPL 23/24 season thread. With Aussie Ange taking over at Spurs I’m more invested than ever.
