Yes awful person, awful music.

Each to their own though.

Exactly on all three counts! I despise that cocksucker and Burzum is some horrid crap. I know that most of you do not like Black Metal but Darkthrone walks all over his overrated music. If you want to give real Black Metal a listen go for the early albums by Darkthrone.
Thel I don't want to derail this thread but being there is no other thread on the subject of Black Metal, I just purchased Dawn Of The Black Hearts bootleg, as I'm curious to see what Mayhem sounds like with Dead, can you tell me if this album is good? It's the one with Dead's brains blown out of his head on the cover.

It only cost me 10 bucks, so I said what the hell? I don't like Black Metal, not because it's evil or that's what it portrays to be, but the sound is horrid to my ears, I just got curious and bought it and am waiting it's arrival, I appreciate any advice and help you give me, thank you so much in advance.

Thanks Charger, I tried finding one through the search option, but only this thread came up.

Can you help me with my above question? Just bought the Mayhem bootleg I mentioned, I’ll ask in the link you asked me, if that’ll help me get some answers.

Thank you Charger.

I'll separate the threads, just a sec...

OK, threads split. :smug:

Now that full albums are available to listen to on YouTube and/or Bandcamp and/or Amazon, I don't buy anything I haven't heard all the way through at least once, unless I'm so impressed with a band that I know that they can't do any wrong, which is rarer and rarer...

I have yet to get through more than 2 minutes of a Black Metal album, so I just don't buy that stuff. Guys like Lou Rawls and Rory Gallagher, them I can buy stuff sight unseen. I was so lucky buying Deep Purple and Black Sabbath albums when I was a kid, only a few lemons in that lot, but that also taught me to check the band lineup, look at reviews, and to realize that, even for classic lineups, the seasons can change...

Listened to this bootleg and I can say, I do not like it, there is no way I can understand the vocals and it sounds like pure noise, like hellammer is banging on trash cans and there is no composition, no rhythm nothing, just pure noise, no structure, not for me.

it only cost me $10 bucks, I was curious. How can people listen to that? My God horrid, horrid noise.

I was trying to be open and try and hear a song I thought I could like, but nothing, I can’t believe there is a scene devoted to that music.

Bathory is listenable but then again that is first wave.

I try to keep an open mind, but man this shit was horrible.

My goodness Jack this was really horrible.

Elves, this album is simply unlistenable. It's clearly not a good gateway to discover the genre and appreciate it.  :smug:

You are right Tyr66, it is very unlistenable, it will be going up on my shelf possibly never to be listened to again.
