Mötley Crüe: The Dirt Movie
« on: February 15, 2019, 01:09:43 AM »
Anyone else been eagerly anticipating the release of the upcoming Mötley Crüe biopic? Official trailer drops next week. The movie has pretty much been ten years in the making. It's had rewritten scripts, change of director & distributers before Netflix finally secured the rights to it. After that things really started to move. It's been kept heavily under wraps since production started a year or two ago.

The book was awesome. Best read ever, so I'm really hoping they can do it justice and make a good movie out of it. How they're gonna squeeze it all into a 2.5 hour movie though, I don't know. I would've preferred it had been a 6 part 1 hour series or something.

Can't say I'm overly impressed with the casting either but sometimes having virtual unknowns in the roles can be better and the fact that Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee have had a lot of input into the movie can only be a positive.

Here's some more info on it

I've never heard of this Jack, would be cool to see, I always like Crue, even the Theatre Of Pain as much as the majority hated it and said that's when Crue sold out and became a chick band, Ozzy will be in it, someone playing his character anyways.

Don't know if anyone knows this but Doug Thaler who was Crue's manager was a founding member of Elf.

When is this suppose to come out?

Heard about this on the radio yesterday...or about the fact that it's going on netflix instead of theaters...so obviously I won't be seeing this.

Not a huge fan of band movies anyways though. But there might be some pretty crazy shit in this one though! :D

There's been a Judas Priest one? I think I've missed that one...

Yes Rock Star with Mark Whalberg, it was based on Ripper Owens joint Priest.

Oh that one...ofcourse I know that one...I thought there was an actually official one done too...

As you know that really had nothing to do with Priest...just kind of slightly inspired by those events.

Rock Star was total shit! Priest was originally onboard with that movie but quickly disassociated themselves with it once the makers decided they were taking the movie down a completely different track than was originally planned.

Gotta agree...it wasn't very good... And Mark wasn't the right choice for the lead either....and the end result had nothing to do with Priest.

Didn’t they reference the truth on that movie that the reason for them getting rid of Rob was that he came out and said he was a fag? Perhaps that’s why they disassociated themselves from the movie.

I always heard Rob had a little pressure to help him out of the band once he went public.

I've never heard that. Rob got really disillusioned with everything metal at the time and didn't want to do metal anymore which is why he quit and started Fight and 2wo.

It’s something I heard maybe it wasn’t true and just hearsay.
