As far as British PM Johnson, my understanding is that 52 members of the cabinet have already resigned, so effectively there isn't any governin' goin' on.

Many of the resignations were in junior posts, there were 3 senior ministers who resigned and 1 was sacked, but many who didn't resign told him to go! He's appointed stop-gap replacements but no major decisions are going to happen until the new PM is in place.

It's a McKinley Moment for Japan - they're coming to realize that letting people get that close to a public figure is not good security.

Yeah, that was unexpected. From what I gather the assassin's motivation wasn't political, but rather a personal grudge. Of course, expecting a murderer to provide a cogent and truthful accounting of their reasoning is...unreasonable...but given the culture in Japan I suspect the assassin is being honest, if insane.

Also, expecting the media, in general, to provide circumspect reporting that has "truth" as its watchword is also unreasonable. But this seems pretty cut-and-dried.

It's just been announced that Queen's "Greatest Hits" album has now sold 7 million copies in the UK (that's roughly 1 in 4 households have a copy), it passed 6 million in 2014 and has recently spent its 1,000th week on the album chart.

Released in 1981 it has 17 songs from their first 8 albums... so none of the nonsense that they released later!

Gold - Abba's Greatest Hits is the only album within a million sales.

I liked 70s Queen, very little after that. They were probably my favourites until about 1978. They were like a gateway rock band until I got hooked on the harder stuff!

I too am almost entirely a fan of 70's Queen exclusively.  They were sort of a gateway rock band for me too until I discovered and got into heavier music.

I also dig the 70s Queen more (not a big fan or anything though) but Who Wants To Live Forever and Princes Of The Universe (from The Highlander) are great tracks too...

But Queen did fully embody the 80s in their sound unfortunately...
