Bear in mind there's been inflation since 1776, so that 3% is actually more like 175% in modern numbers. Also, adjusted for inflation, 1776 is the year 103600 hold on wait, I'm doing something wrong here...

Luckily though covid itself has gone so mild already it's pretty much a non issue anymore...hardly anyone even gets symptoms anymore.

Well it's the case here anyways with this new omikron variant. The infection rate's have been off the charts but serious cases have been on the decline for a long time now. People don't even need to get tested anymore if they feel bit under the weather. Just stay home for a few days and that's it...some have reported having a bit of a sore throat but that's about it...even getting fevers is quite rare now. I know a bunch of people who've had covid and their only symptom had been mild headache (or nothing at all) and only knew about it cause they got tested.

So I wouldn't worry too much about that...just stay at home and relax and take it easy...most likely you will hardly even notice it. :)
