Yes, I know what Jack meant.  It would have been worse because all the Trump bigots would go out and loot stores, damage property and hurt innocent people.  And then you wouldn't hear a peep out of Zzz about how wrong all that was.

2. That is a personal attack. We're not supposed to have those here, and I'm ready for you to stop making me out to be a monster in your imagination.

I'm gonna leave it at that and if I'm not on the boards for a few days or weeks or longer, it's because Typhon here keeps pushing my buttons, no matter how many times I've asked for that sort of thing to stop.

So good day, one and all. Let me know if anything changes on that front and I can come here without having my name baselessly associated with things I'm opposed to. Until then, I wish you all well.

Onto more positive daily thoughts again.

Initially I was curious how this thread turned into a USA politics thread, but then realized that given the current social/political/economic situation in the US, it probably is a "daily thought" for a lot of people. But I agree with Charger here. Although the hot topics in the US have an unusual amount of immediacy to them, let's have those discussions in Billy's Corner.

I agree posting political thoughts in this thread should halt immediately. I also think there’s been some emotional overreactions on both sides of the spectrum.

@Zzzptm I would be extremely disappointed if you left us over this but it’s your choice. You are a highly valued and much loved member here. The life of the party I would also say.

But before you make any hasty decision I want you to say to yourself. What would've Billy done in the same situation?

Watching the Capitol events from the other side of the Atlantic, I immediately noticed all these yellow flags with the snake accompanied by the message Don't tread on Me.

The connection with Metallica was immediately made in my head. But, after some research, I find that this symbol is much older than the Black album.
As I read the lyrics, we can find some similarities with the supporters of Trump. Without entering into a political debate, I think that whatever the country, wanting to death to ignore a part of a population and by talking about them while blocking the nose is not a good thing. If these people do that, they would be interesting to understand them in the way that the hours spent on BLM move.
It's just the opinion of an anonymous Frenchman who probably does not understand anything in all of this ...
I just think that by constantly shouting about the true abominations that White Man has engendered through the centuries while ignoring the current ones of others is not a good thing. Here, we are in a permanent self-flagellation, apologizing for the colonization of past centuries, etc ...
However beware, by constantly annoying the pale little man, the Big Bad White Man can wake up again. We have already experienced it in the 1930s and it hurt a lot, really. Despite this, first signs of awakening appear more and more obvious here and there ... Not good at all.

Thought for the day: MY CAT KYLE IS THE BOSS OF ME

My morning routine now has to take care of everything before he rolls up to sit on my lap and fall asleep for 3 hours, until lunchtime. He'll bite my arm as I type, the way cats bite to let you know that you're not petting or skritching them enough. But the harshest measures are that I gotta stay in my spot, because awww he's so fluffy... he weighs in at 16.5 pounds which is something like 7-8 kilos, so it's a not insignificant presence on my lap.
