Yesterday, 2 assholes passed me on the Highway just as I was about to pass a truck. I went to buy an original copy of the classic Live of Thin Lizzy "Life" , just 20 km from my house. If I didn't have control by looking in my rearview mirror, it was the big impact. They had to drive 140 or 150 km /h (93 mph) for a permitted speed of 110 km /h (68 mph). And there, for a moment, I dreamed of being a superhero, an Avenger like the Hulk. I would then have jumped over to those assholes and crushed the cars to make statuettes with them inside. Oh, if that was possible ... I know, sweet dream.
And by the way, "Life" is excellent. Many memories came back when listening.

Yesterday, ...

I was inspired by your Thin Lizzy vinyl collection post, but never could find the time to dig mine out. This post describing how you braved the perils of automobile traffic to acquire an album titled "Life", reminded me of that and I just happen to have the time currently. So, here's mine:

You'll note the lack of live albums, and in the case of Thin Lizzy, that's a large omission on my part. However, The Rocker compilation, Fighting, Nightlife, and Chinatown are promotional copies, and Jailbreak is a test pressing.

Cheers!

Wow ! great pic , great collection  Vyn !
I 've always liked the graphics of "Vagabonds of the Western World" cover art. Obviously you have the North American copy of Fighting.
My copy of "Bad Reputation" album also arrived just a few days ago in incredible condition with almost near mint covers and vinyl. I had never really listened to it completely. These are the covers of Opium Trail and Killer Without A Cause on 2 albums by John Norum which made me hungry,  without counting the adventures of the recording sessions complicated by an angry Brian Robertson.
Anyway, What a mighty vinyle rack, Vyn, Congrats ! :headbanger:

long live the new world and internet shopping:
1- My purchase of Thin Lizzy's Nightlife failed miserably on this remarkable site called ebay. The delivery times having exceeded the announced date and having no information on the progress of the package, I wanted to know more: a choice is offered to me automatically without having the possibility of contacting the seller directly: 2 possibilities between the outright cancellation of the sale or keep the sale in progress but have additional information. I choose the second solution obviously. The next day, I learn that the sale is canceled and the refund will follow. The "professional" sellerr is called Dodax. I asked them for more explanation but no answer. Very very irritating.
"Fighting" is also underway on the same site. I dare not send them a message and risk having my sale also canceled. What misery.
So I ordered another edition of "Nightlife"on Amazon last night and all the information is already up to date with a specific delivery date in a few days. First purchase on Amazon and first good impression. We will see ...
2- I found the original German edition of Accept "Restless and Wild" on an online selling plateform called Vinted. this site mainly concerns clothing resales but also offers other items and therefore vinyls. My brother made a purchase on this site because he was looking for a U2 album and he found it through a Spanish seller at a reasonable price. The delivery conditions were catastrophic, the album had been packed in a simple plastic bag (true !!) and arrived in deplorable condition. However, the vinyl of Accept was also offered by another Spanish seller. After having requested the insurance of sending the package in dignified conditions, the seller reassures me that this will be done in a serious way. But before, I had to receive a message confirming the deposit of the parcel in a sending site. The delay incurred is 5 days after validation of the transaction. I bought it last Sunday, we are saturday so 6 days later. I contacted him (thanks google translate) for news. He replied that he had dropped off the package, but  Vinted application seemed to be experiencing a bug and "that he was told that" the package was on its way (!!!!!). I just contacted Vinted to find out what solution I can have: it's a robot who answers me by advising me to wait. Everything is fine !
I can already feel the failure of the sale and therefore certainly a lot of energy lost to recover my money, ie 25 € postage included.
I should have listened to my instincts and stayed on the negative outlook on these Spanish sellers but the desire to own this edition was stronger. I hear here and there the easy criticisms of the non-justification of prejudices. as we say here,  Advisers are never Payers.
Fuck dishonesty, greed and bad faith. The world is dying little by little because of these scourges.

I'm surprised to hear that you had problems with Dodax...I've ordered literally dozens of albums from them (albeit directly) and all have been delivered in good time and free of postage charge I might add..

Right now I have to Solitude Aeturnus albums coming from them.

^^
I also made purchases many items with them before, without any worries.I criticize the procedure the lack of direct link with the seller on the one hand and the unilateral reaction from his side on the other.
And yet I think we will have to get used to this type of impersonal communication in the future ...

I think you might wanna send Dodax a message. Ebay can be a bit of a dick sometimes with the lack of seller communication options. But you can always get your money back from Ebay when buying from a trusted vendor so that's never the problem.

I usually like buying straight from the vendors instead of using Amazon or Ebay anyways...when talking about cds that is...you might even get them cheaper and with better shipping options.

That is a cautionary tale you presented for sure, Tyr. I know the struggle it can be to acquire good vinyl!

Oh man, that's an awful mess.

I'm waiting on a delivery of new memory chips from my laptop manufacturer. Cheaper than Amazon, but also slower.
