Our heroes are getting old, they can't party like they used to and any ailments lay them low and take longer to recover than before.

I'm sure they will reschedule and it's not because they dislike Australia!
Yep,  It's just bad luck. You have to be mad not to take out travel insurance these days if you're planning on travelling around and taking in multiple cities/shows when it comes to the older bands.

Were you gonna see Kiss Jack?

I've heard that their preformances have been pretty spotty at best and that Stanley's been using a lot of backing tracks....I personally don't know as I'm not a fan..

Wasnt going to for the reasons you mentioned but ended up buying tickets late when some great seats popped up. Was going to take my older brother along who hadn't seem them since our Dad took us to see them in 1980. I've seen them many many times since over the years so I'm not too upset over it.

Unfortunately for Stanley his voice has never been the same since he underwent vocal chord surgery a few years back and it's gradually got worse. It's a shame because his voice was so strong for so long.

Only just got my refund back for Metallica yesterday so this money will come in handy leadimg up to Xmas to make a positive out of a negative.

Reportedly Klaus stated, "I'd rather swill buckets of chum than let the obscenity of Australian fish and chips near my mouth."

Then the Scorpions cancelled their tour.

Don't try to burn the Australians. They already have enough trouble with fires at the moment.  :naughty:

Yeah as much as concert cancellations suck once getting the refund it's like free money! :D

That's unfortunate about Stanley...I remember when Dave Mustaine got his surgery his vocals got a whole lot better after that...so it seems to be a 50 50 chance to go either way then...

I heard some clips about a year ago or so from Kiss and my god....that was painful to watch/listen even for a non Kiss fan.

^^ Dave probably couldn't get any worse tbh. Love the man but his live vocals are atrocious!

Not really, he's just become better at managing his limitations. He mostly sings in his low grumbly voice these days, he rarely tries to sing too high or hold high notes and the band tunes a full step down to compensate. No shame in doing that though, a lot a aging vocalist have to do the same. Dave was never a great vocalist to begin with but he was unique and made it work. I've said it many times but Dave choosing to sing in Megadeth was probably the greatest decision he ever made. With his track record of firing musicians and others coming and going they could've had 3-4 different vocalists over the journey which would've diluted the greatness of that band and possibly prevented them from being the huge legacy band they've turned out to be.

Agreed. Also I have to say I enjoy Dave's vocal work from Cryptic Writings onwards more than his early days stuff. The deeper vocalization works better for him honestly anyways.

I think though his voice hit rock bottom around 2010 or so...he was really struggling...but after the surgery he can hold notes much better again and do more with his voice. So it really worked out for him.

I do fear what the cancer now might have done though. It ofcourse is entirely possible he can never sing again..

Yeah that's going to be a big thing for Dave, how his voice is gonna come back after his cancer treatment. Bruce got through it with his singing voice still in good order but of coarse it can effect everyone differently. I really hope Dave can do the same. His tone mixed with the way he spews out his lyrics in that sarcastic style is just so unique it really makes him irreplaceable.

Well good old insomnia has returned again...started last week already...most nights 3 or 4 hours of sleep at most....last night the same...now got a headache from hell to add insult to injury.

These are the times when I wish I'd live in a big city. I could just get out and walk around in a city that never sleeps...and maybe there'd be a blind corner somewhere and car with my name on it coming.

Ah, it's better you not get hit by a car. Would you want to be stuck in a hospital bed and then a wheelchair?
