Will I be killed on here if I say Ritchie is the better guitarist, over Tony Iommi, he has more of a distinctive sound.

Ritchie is (or was to be more precise) much more techincally talented I think that's something that no one can deny...His style was always much more showman-like as well.

But I've always liked Tony better. The heaviness, the tone and the brilliance of the soloing without the need to be overly flashy are all traits that appeal to me more.

Oh and to answer your question, if I haven't been killed off here yet, you have nothing to worry about!

Love Tony as well of course, Ritchie just sounds more distinct, maybe because I love Rainbow.

Blackmore is better at playing the blues. Iommi, however, is much better doing the rhythm work that Blackmore frequently pushed off on his keyboard player. Both have done solos that I still play air guitar along with - Iommi's solos on "Megalomania" and "Heaven and Hell" are some of his best work and Blackmore's epic live work on "You Fool No One" and "Highway Star" are his best.

Tommy Aldridge is not human. The guy is nudging 70 and has lost none of his drumming chops, power or stamina. He was phenomenal on the throne last night.
