Nah Over And Over doesn't qualify as a drum intro. Has guitar and bass going on as well.


I've always liked Vinny's intro on Straight Through The Heart though. His drumming on the whole song actually.

For songs like Iron Man and Turn Up the Night, I consider the opening drum beats as essentially timekeeping and not solos where the ability of the drummer is showcased.

Actually (as you may be aware) the opening 'beat' for Turn Up the Night wasn't supposed to be on the album, that was an error.  My turn:

Aerosmith: Lord of the Thighs
Black Sabbath: Computer God
Iron Maiden: Where Eagles Dare
Alice Cooper: Billion Dollar Babies, Big Apple Dreamin' (Hippo)
Deep Purple: Fireball, Pictures of Home
Ozzy Osbourne - Over the Mountain

I realize I've only picked 8 and no honourable mentions.  I'll add more if/when I think of them.
