Well this should be an interesting day...

Uruguay vs France...super even this one. Both teams got good defence vs great forward...so what'll come out of that...I'm thinking 0-0.

Brazil vs Belgium....Belgium's offence leaves nothing to be desired but same can NOT be said about their defence which was nearly painfully evident in the Japan match...and now they are faced with a much stronger team. So either they have to change their defence a lot or they are going home...which I (sadly) believe will happen...but might take longer than 90 minutes though.

I don't mind who wins either quarter final but I think the French might just scrape past Uruguay, and I think Belgium might scrape past Brazil... they've not been at their best this tournament and it might be their last game.

These games are so hard to pick tonight. Uruguay have been sensational in this World Cup only conceding the 1 goal. They've been coached by the same coach for the last 12 years and it shows in their game, they play like a very well organised club team. Cavani will be be a big loss though which is why I'm slightly leaning towards France, Uruguay can still win without him though.

Obviously I'm going for Belguim but not with any confidence at all given who they're playing.

Not quite 0-0 after the first half but the picture of the game was as expected...a great goal for France put them in the lead but will it last through the second half?

Yes it will. That goal they just scored was amazing to watch. Heartbreaking for the Uruguay side.

Well, France goes through and very convincingly so. Whatever jitters they had getting started, they seem to have worked them out for now.

Now to see if Belgium can get through Brazil.

Incredibly strong game from France...I have to say they just moved up very close to being a favourite to win this all...

Uruguay was surprisingly disarmed...it makes me wonder just how big part of that team was Edinson Cavani?

Mbappe has some great talent, though, I think he's a real up-and-comer. We might get to see that matchup if Brazil takes down Belgium today.

Well , putting Neymar's roulades end to end since the beginning of the tournament cost the others teams 14 minutes of time. Mbappé is so far away from that , although he made a shameful simulation in front of Rodriguez who gives it a shot during the action. tbh, some Urugayan players behaved like butchers.
Anyway, our level rises match after match and it feels more and more good ...
