Also, I want to deliver a listening report:
Rory Gallagher, Isaac Hayes, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan - I've already heard them, quite familiar with those albums.

Anathema - sorry, no.

Cranberries - wow. I am really enjoying this, probably because I'm expecting a mellower disc and I'm not roving around for hard rock. I'll come back to this and enjoy it again.

Coltrane - not familiar with this album, but I need to be after listening to that opening track. I can't see how I would be able to take points from it, except in the most desperate of situations.

New Model Army - holy smokes, a third album on my "give it another spin" list.  I'm really glad we're doing this round, as I'm getting a lot of exposure to stuff I hadn't taken notice of before.

The Stooges - How am I going to be able to listen my way out of this hole I'm digging myself? I wasn't too crazy with the first Stooges album, but this one is making me revisit my decision to pass on their other product.

Genesis - I'm with Richard Hammond on this one. Sorry, no.

Air - some fun ambient chill electronica. Hard to believe it's 20 years old... fifth album of 7 that I need to revisit to enjoy more.

Joni Mitchell - I was ready to say that I just wasn't that into Joni Mitchell, but I gave this one a fair try and noticed that it's got "River", which is one of my favorite Christmas songs, covered by many and I never noticed who wrote it. For that alone, this album is destined to be placed on my "Albums I'm Surprised That I Like" shelf, right next to Bowie's Station to Station and Patti Smith's Horses.

Plastic Ono Band - I do like some songs on it, but the others I really don't. It's a difficult album for me, had to listen to it again to make sure that, overall, I didn't like it.

Kate Bush - Sorry, no. She's got a great voice, but the 80s of it all isn't working for me.

Comus - :zomgwtfbbq: No. I'm going back to Joni Mitchell.

If I'm making a mistake in passing on any of these albums, I'm open to suggestions on how to better approach them or anything I should know that would justify having me do a proper re-re-listen.

Don't listen to it expecting to get chilled out. Expect to be disturbed.

OK, the Stooges managed to drive me up the wall by the end. How they're more mellow, I really don't see... all the same, I'm glad I gave them an honest try. Really enjoyed Joni Mitchell and Air, I think I'll do Coltrane next.

That's great to hear! I'm a big fan...of that album in particular. Good solid rock. This is the more mellower stuff for me...Sure I could have also included Melanie but I know I'm the only one here who loves her so that would have gone out fast and I did not want that! :D

Yeah, The Cranberries are a keeper, for sure. NMA has a solid disc, as well.
