I've got Carolina County Ball and like quite a few tracks from it... anyone know how good other Elf material is?

And I'm putting this in the BS part of the forum instead of the DP part of the forum because Dio was actually a BS member and the rest of Elf was only in Rainbow, not DP.

Well, Mickey Lee Soule became a keyboard tech for DP and got to play on Gillan's later solo works... still, not *actually* in DP...

Elf isn't really my cup of tea...it's bit too soft rock 'n roll for my taste. However you can clearly see already back then just how exceptional singer Ronnie really was.

Soft? More like regular... when I think of soft rock, I think of stuff like Seals and Crofts or about half of The Eagles' catalog, like "New Kid in Town"...
