I was wondering if you had picked up the Deluxe Editions of the first three. Love the second disc on the Master Of Reality issue.

I thought that the first one was OK - nothing essential. It was the first time I had heard Evil Woman. Not that impressed to be honest and it is a serious contender for the worst of the Ozzy era IMHO. Being said I did pay 35$ + for it as an import and did not regret it so there is that.

If memory serves me right the reason the other re-releases weren't DE's was because there was no material for them found.

That was the reason they gave but what about live shows - surely the bootlegs have shown that there are some killer live recordings in the archives

Well this was something that was talked about a lot at the other place as well...

And it all comes down to rights for those recordings. If something was recorded for lets say a radio broadcast the rights to that recording belong to the radio station...the band can't just take up and use it. And some of those radio stations don't even exist anymore so the rights would be totally up in the air.
Another thing ofcourse is that the masters for those recording might have been long gone already and all that would even remain are some bootleg copies which ofcourse could not be used for an official release.

The one recording however that we do know Sanctuary has and obtained rights to is the Asbury Park show as 3 songs from that were released on Past Lives...so that could have (should have) been released...
