Top 5 Musicians

This thread is a copy from a certain old forum. I love replying to threads like these because they make me think of music on a more broad spectrum. So who are your top 5 vocalists, Guitarists, Bass and Drummers? I will take some time to think and construct my new list but for now here is my old one from the old forum.

Oh, just too many to mention... And remember just off the bat.

So i'll just stick with my usual 2x3

Bass:
Geezer Butler
John Entwistle
John Paul Jones

Drums:
Bill Ward
Keith Moon
John Bonham

The fact that they're from the same bands is pure coincident.

Hope i can revisit this with more names...

Had to choose a couple multiple choices as I just couldn't make up my mind...so I had to cheat...and I still left out too many of my favourites...

I am happy to see that Dave Mustaine made it on so many lists! He truly is a master of the axe. I'm also not surprised to see Tony's name on top of each list! :D

I always have a problem handling these types of things. So the definition of "best" that I use is "what I enjoy the most", which may or may not equate to actual chops from a broader, objective perspective. Plus it changes :)

1. Mike Patton
2. Ozzy Osbourne
3. Layne Staley
4. King Diamond
5. Chris Cornell
Ok so when Chris Cornell died, I could not listen to his music. I don't know if he really did commit suicide intentionally or if the prescription drugs was the main factor, but its been about a year now and I am still in disbelief.
Guitar
1. Tony Iommi
2. Jerry Cantrell
3. Kim Thayil
4. Jimi Hendrix
5. Josh Homme
Another one I thought about adding was Matt Pike, but he is still on the outside of these guys. Maybe he could replace Thayil as I have been listening to a lot of Sleep and High on Fire lately.
Bass
1. Trevor Dunn
2. Geezer Butler
3. Jack Bruce
4. Paul Mccartney
5. Geddy Lee
Geddy is there because he is an easy fill in.
Drums
1. Bill Ward
2. Matt Cameron
3. Dave Grohl
4. Ginger Baker
5. Dave Lombardo
Added Dave into my top 5 because I have been listening to Slayer so much lately!

Also, how could I forget
Alto Saxophone
John Zorn
What a freaking weird guy am i right?

So these are mostly the same. I could still put Jack white in there under vocalists or guitarists. He would easily be in the top 10 for me. Either way, once i started listening to Patton's projects, no music has been the same for me. Usually its something Patton related or bust. I don't listen to much of anything else these days.
