I propose that once an album hits 0 points, that we leave it on the list, but move it to its overall ranking in that group. So, when TDYK drops out, change it to "4th place". Next Dio-era to drop would be 3rd place, and so on.

That way, we have The Community Official Guide to Black Sabbath Records.

It does create another stake as to getting the "right order", not only the winner. Sounds like fun.

We'll also be able to look back on the voting as a sort of post-mortem... did it drop out rapidly, or were there others that took a similar time to exit? Tells the difference between universally unpopular vs. there being other albums of equal merit.

Did it rise quickly and stay up, or was there a lot of back-and-forth? Tells the difference between universally popular and, again, other albums that are almost as good (or bad, depending...)

Right now, we can see that TDYK is clearly not in the same league as the other Dio-era albums. While we can see where the Ozzy-era works have taken a few hits, with 13 having the most negatives, it's not so bad off as TDYK. That tells us that, relative to other Ozzy-era stuff, it's not too far off the mark.

Over in the "all other eras", we do see a few albums starting to emerge from the pack, but it's still close voting there. While it's still early days, if this keeps up it will indicate that the consensus here is that one is pretty much as good as the other, your mileage may vary.

TDYK is a monster but it just doesn't quite match up to the pure brilliance of the others

No, it's not, but it's better than TE... They're both good albums, though, and given the history of 13 (being the only full Ozzy era album 35 years after the originals, and their last hurrah) it deserves all the recognition it can have. And, yes, we can bicker about this until the cows come home...

Those new rules certainly turned the premises of the game around...

Glad to have us voting for rankings, makes us really think about things...

As for me, I do prefer the original 8 to 13, but I'm not upset about TE or NSD going out first, if that's what happens.

But for sure, SBS > TE, so I'll make sure that fifth album isn't overlooked.

I have to take from Dehumanizer to give to Mob Rules. Ouch it hurts, but it's the right thing to do.
