I envy your plant growing skills Charger!

I love watching this guy's YouTube channel for a few reasons:

1. I love listening to his voice, it's got great character.
2. He has a beautiful orchard.
3. He works with a permaculture mindset, trying to have nature do as much of the work as possible. I find that soothing.
4. Because he wants to work with nature, he talks a lot about how nature is working, so I usually learn something interesting from his videos.

I must have a different species of rabbit in my neighborhood than this guy has.  I see them grazing on my property eating their favorite weeds, not bark.  Then again I don't have any fruit trees.

Rabbits tend to eat pretty much everything. But a lot of it depends on what's available. If there's a lot of grass and plants they tend to stay off of trees and bushes but during the winter when everything else is covered in snow they eat tree bark, branches and everything. I've had countless of trees and bushes destroyed by those little pests. Nowadays I cover every tree and bush with some wire mesh to keep them out. They love apple trees and maples and blueberry bushes...

The main pests for my neighborhood, being solidly in the suburbs are squirrels, squirrels, squirrels, birds, and also squirrels. They just go after the food crops and are easy on the bushes and trees. So I look more into things like cayenne pepper sprays to keep them off the young plants.

I've got a bunch of squirrels too but I've never had any issue with them though... Sly however has gotten a few of them as has my water barrel.

There's another gardener in Australia that I like to watch, "Self Sufficient Me", and he does lots of work with raised beds. The advantage with those is that a framework can be added to the bed containers that allows for placing netting over plants that the birds want to devour, like blueberries. I would love to have some good berry bushes in my backyard here.

My guesstimate for the big boy was 50lbs and after careful weighing it turned out to be.....51.8lbs! Not a bad guess...

Oh don't be. Very amateur stuff here...but I have to say though this year was a good year. Best harvest yet I'd say all in all. And I'm still collecting tomatoes in october! Think that has happened only once before!


And yes Tyr. I just dried another load today. This time some bit milder but still rather hot smaller ones. Ground them up too. Good for adding on sauces or on fish or steaks or what ever. For marinades and...well pretty much everything.

2022 season has been officially kicked open as I just put the seeds of Chilis in the dirt.

I went with all new varieties this year so it'll be an adventure of not knowing what they are like and how (if at all) they will grow.

Chilis and Bell Peppers are growing nicely:
