Agree with Layla being overplayed. For decades. In fact, there's not much Clapton I can stand anymore, regardless of the guise he wore. Except Cream.

Which brings up Only You Know and I Know. Dave Mason was cool Delaney and Bonnie were cool, but damned if Clapton didn't stick his fingers in it and make them all sound like a bunch of drunks wailing around a bonfire.

Stuff from Fleetwood Mac's Rumors album gets played all the time, but "The Chain" is one that I love each time I hear it. Top Gear voted it one of the ten best songs to drive to, and I agree with that assessment.

Three Dog Night - "Shambala"

Play that on eternal repeat, I don't care. I love that song.

Ok, it's time... What a riff, what a guitar sound, what an attitude. What a tune!  :D

I had to inspect the source code of the page in order to determine that you posted a link to Smoke On the Water.

Fitting, actually, given all of the hidden meanings and obscure references in that song. Combined with the complex musical layers and textures that song is the eternal "pick your own meaning" song.

Oh, I'm sorry, I was thinking of:

"I'm making a movie trailer and I need music for it."
"Is there any money in the movie?"
"Yes, there's a scene where the kid collects money for mowing his neighbor's yard."
"THEN PLAY THIS SONG!"

^ Except this is the album version, which is *not* the one used for soundtracks, etc. They go to the single edit. The full album version is great, especially when it's taken in context with the rest of the Ship Ahoy album.
