Yeah he got a standing ovation so I guess that must make everyone one in that room low class arseholes eh?

How many children you reckon sit around watching the Tony's?

Be honest Tyhon. It's not the F-bomb that upset was it?

I'll be honest.  The guy can criticize Trump all he wants without having to speak like that in public.

Now you be honest.  What do you think the reaction would be if 5 years ago someone else got up there and said, "The hell with president slave boy" ?
The same reaction if they called any African American slave boy.

Correct, but tell a white guy to F-off, no problems.

Tell ya what... I'll say that DeNiro was a real scumbag for going low like that if you'll also say Trump was a real scumbag for going low and ordering the needlessly cruel separation of children from parents at the border. Or if you'll say Trump was a scumbag for not making more voiciferous opposition to white supremacist groups within the Republican Party. Or if you'll say Trump was a scumbag for engaging in campaign finance violations. Or if you'll say Trump was a scumbag for getting involved with the Russians during his campaign. Or if you'll say Trump was a scumbag for lying about how many people were at his inauguration.

DeNiro's not a darling of the Right, no question. And I agree that he should not have gone with the f-bomb at the Tony Awards. It was crude, uncalled for, and makes him a real scumbag for having done so. Shame, Mr. DeNiro.

I mean that and I'll be happy to say lengthier statements about anyone that fails to take the high road. Truth be told, if I go with proportionality, I'll have a lot more work to do with the American Right than with the American Left, which has thus far done a much more effective job of self-policing than has the Right.

Okay...

Time to take a break now.

This was supposed to be a thread about celebrating birthdays not about Right wing vs Left wing.

If you want to continue this discussion (which I'd prefer that you didn't honestly) do so in another thread. But lets keep this one for Birthdays only.

If you're referring to me I don't think I did really....I just stated a fact about the man and left it at that...you were the one who kept going on about it. ;) I never intented it to start anything especially since I emphasized just how much I liked his acting. :)

Well when you labelled him despicable I thought you knew something I didn't because despicable is not a term I use lightly against people. I usually reserve that for kiddie fiddlers, rapist and mass murderers and the like...

Anyhow, I'm sure you wouldn't take too kindly if you gave a birthday shout out to Ripper Owens and I chimed in with " great singer but horrible songwriter and first class arsehole"

I wrote a letter to Brian Aldiss in the early '70s as part of a school assignment. He never replied. When he passed away last year I was finally able to stop worrying about it. Interestingly, I got into him by way of Harry Harrison, and I got into Esperanto by way of Harrison's Stainless Steel Rat stories.

How many sci-fi stories featured Esperanto? Because it was also in the Riverworld series.

Well ofcourse I wouldn't because that wouldn't be true but just mindless bad mouthing...there is a difference you know. ;)

And now lets close this subject please so that we can keep this thread open for future birthday celebrations too.

Tim Owens ain't no shrinking violet, don't worry about that, but It would be MY OPINION, just like it was YOUR OPINION which you stated as fact.

I don't know for sure, but I here's a page talking about that and other things:
