What TV shows are you currently watching?

Just finished watching all 3 seasons of Versailles, the story of a young Louis XIV on his journey to become the most powerful monarch in Europe.  Very well done, if you like this type of stuff, which I do.  9/10

So apparently the BBC are resurrecting Top Gear after a 4 year hiatus!

No word on when or who will host yet, my guess it's unlikely to be any previous host.

I sort of understand the reasoning for bringing it back given it was one of their biggest exports even after Clarkson, May and Hammond left, nut I think it's should have been laid to rest and perhaps come up with a new car oriented format!

Frankly car shows like Top Gear and Grand Tour aren't gonna be the same ever again now that the trio is retired. They were so quintessential. They made the shows.

I have zero interest in new Top Gear....unless they find someone truly special to host it...but the magic of the trio can NEVER be reproduced.

Finally got around to start watching ALIEN EARTH and much to my surprise Sabbath's MOB RULES was used as the outro track for the Pilot episode!!

I'm about to start on PBS Eons' series about the Cambrian-Permian period. Looks like some really good stuff.

Well finished the Alien Earth now...

First two episodes were good...then it dipped badly...then there was the what can be considered Alien-remake episode which was rather good and then it dipped badly again...ending very poorly.

I'd say too much android drama crap and not enough Alien.

Timothy Olyphant was great but criminally under used.

They are making a second seaon, but honesly I'm not sure if it'll be worth a watch...

My wife and I are working through the new Grand Tour. Two of the presenters have been working together on the Throttle House YT channel and the third, Francis Bourgeoise, also has social media experience. The three work well together and they're not trying to be anyone but themselves - Francis most pronouncedly so with his engineering background and enthusiasm for trains. Clarkson, May, and Hammond have cameos each in separate episodes, pretty much giving the lads some benign neglect to sod off and not ask them for advice, they're done with crashing cars.

As it is, it's like the early seasons of Top Gear as the three presenters got introduced to each other and how to work alongside. There are some bland moments as they do what they have to do to make a show at some times, but there are also moments where we're going, "yeah, these guys are fun to watch and argue with their opinions on this or that." Overall, it's a fun series. We've seen 5 of the 6 episodes, likely watch the 6th one tonight or tomorrow night.

The 4th episode, in which they try to find the most indestructible *car* (not truck, *car*) is the best so far. Loved it.
