"Freak Out Song" (AKA: "Nobody Likes Me", "Science Fiction" and "Snortin' Anthrax" etc.) was definitely a weird release! I think a lot of the songs came from their show at the Toronto Peace Festival back in 1969 (the chicken incident show).

I don't know why, but a couple of Ronnie Hawkins (Who also played the Toronto Peace Festival) tunes ("Ain't That Just Like A Woman" and "Goin' To The River") were on it too, and have nothing to do with Alice Cooper!

Most of the bands I like the 4th track on their 3rd album is actually quite a weak effort, usually sandwiched between great tracks!!

Going through my record collection, I have to totally agree!

Really a shame Nobody Likes Me never've been released (or recorded?) as a studio version (as far as i know). It's kinda the song missing from Pritties...

Two studio versions of Nobody Likes Me have been recorded and released; the 1st was a demo recorded in 1968 and included on the Old School box set; the 2nd was a re-recording of the song by the Original AC Group in 1971.  The 2nd recording was 1st included as a cut-out single in the Killer Tour program and was subsequently included in The Life and Crimes of Alice Cooper box set (where it's erroneously listed as being the 1968 demo version of the song).

That should really've been on Pritties, then.  Will have to check that out. Thanx, Ted!

Grand Funk's entry in this category is "Got to Get It Together", which is kind of upbeat, even though Farner's vocals are flat. Again.

The Guess Who come in pretty strong with "No Sugar Tonight / New Mother Nature" from American Woman, which is the third album with Burton Cummings doing lead vocals.

Also, just saw that Rudy Sarzo is now the bass player for The Guess Who.

What!? You do know that YESTERDAY was April fool's day, don't you?
That's like Billy Sheehan joining Max Webster!  ;D

Well, maybe it's not quite like that, but it still makes one think... WTF?

Indeed... a couple of other Whitesnake guys have worked their way through The Guess Who... Not a bad gig, if you're old and tired of jumping off of stacks of amps, I guess...

Wow, I thought you were joking around!

I still can't believe this is legit! Bogus Guess Who.

Both Frankie Banali and Rudy Sarzo are in bands that don't have any original members, weird!

Jim Kale must be rolling in the dough! why else would he let the band go on?

Makes me think that a band like Nazareth isn't all that far away from being "a band without an original member" as well:

What was this thread about again?

I think that's Peterson on the drums, he and Kale own the rights to the band name.

But yeah, money to be made on the county fair / *-fest circuits. Maybe we need a new thread for this stuff...
