Where Does Music Sound the Best?
« on: March 06, 2018, 04:23:30 PM »
For some people, it may be in a listening room with specialized equipment, optimized for the environment. For others, it's simply down to good vinyl, a well-kept turntable with a proper needle, and a pair of over-the-ear headphones.

For me, it's the car. With the windows down. On a sunny day or in a warm night. Preferably at a speed between 20mph and 45mph. Less than that, I'm stuck in traffic misery. More than that, and I may have to roll up the windows to enjoy the experience, depending on the cross winds. There have been days when I've rolled down the road at 75mph with the windows down in generally still conditions, but then I'm still dealing with significant road noise.

The music doesn't even have to be loud, it just has to be in the car when the weather is nice and the windows are down.

In my car too. Driving free and alone to enjoy what I love to hear whatever I want. No limit .Mp3 format makes my day . :jimi: (yeah , I'm left handed !)
I love to play my vinyl records too but I don't want to impose and interfere my family's members with this "noisy stuff" so I limit the sound volume. 8)

For me it's onstage. As long as the monitors are good

For me it's two places really. While on my computer either working or doing what ever I always have music on. I don't have monster sound system or anything just an old Sony amp with some decent speakers.

Other place is in my car. Driving alone I can put the volume up (I've got the best OEM hifi system there) and just enjoy.

I know for certain it is NOT the airplane. Yes, I can listen on the plane. No, it is never at its best there.
