Heck of an entertaining hockey game last.  2 or 3 lead changes and terrific action.    Game 1 went to Vegas.

NFL: Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens
MLB: Philadelphia Phillies
NHL: Philadelphia Flyers

College football is my all time favorite to watch, but my son plays Travel baseball so watching him out ranks all the above.

Also watch a lot of WWE, but I guess that is more sports entertainment

OK, so why the Philly teams for baseball and hockey, but not NFL?

#1 question people ask me.

So my dad was not a big sports fan, so all sports I got into myself with the exception of baseball. My mom was a big time Phillies fan so I rooted for them. Flyers just because of the Broad street Bullies thing.

Growing up in the 70's it seems like the Cowboys were always on TV and well they won a lot of games, so I sort of rooted for them. Kicked in even more when I met Randy White. He was a Delaware boy like me and he was cool as hell. Spent maybe 10 minutes talking to me while he was with family eating dinner. I thought if he could do it I can to. I quickly learned you need talent, to which I had none, but I stuck with the Cowboys ever since.

Ravens I just picked up later because I got tired of hearing about "well you have to root for a local team." I live in Delaware we have no F'N local team. So I live in between the two cities so I went with Baltimore.

Good thing you're not rooting for the Orioles, they're tanking worse than the White Sox...

I've got this guy that does my yard and we've become friends over the years and have fun talking sports. I don't really follow the baseball games, but because he's over 80 and has no Internet and the local papers won't answer his calls, he'll call me up and ask about the scores.

Yeah, he's over 80 and does my yard. He like staying active.

Anyway, he's a big fan of Chicago teams. Which is hard, given their current collective win/loss status. And although the Cubs did OK recently, he's a White Sox fan.

So, I get to follow MLB from a statistical point of view. I don't catch the games, but I look at the records. At least his Sox were able to beat the Red Sox two games to one to win their recent series, but the Indians really drove them into the ground. They could still be on track to have their worst season, ever.

I pretty much stick to football for the sports I watch most, but I'm following the World Cup because I work from home and can let the games run while I'm typing or on calls. Then, I've got something to chat with my international friends here.

So there is a story unfolding in our AFL competition that most Americans wouldn't even be aware of.

27yo Mason Cox a 212cm Texan born engineering graduate who played Basketball for Oklahoma State University has taken our AFL game by storm.

Cox was invited to attend the 2014 US International Combine for potential Australian rules footballers, in Los Angeles in April 2014. After impressive performances in the skills testing he traveled to Australia for a second combine and on May 30, 2014, was signed by the Collingwood Football Club. The biggest and most famous sporting club of any sporting codes in Australia.

He's been a slow build over two two years, working his way into the firsts team and is now starting to cement his spot. Everyone in our game has been astonished at his skills and how well he has adapated to our game. Make no mistake, Australian rules football is one of the hardest games on the planet to learn and play, especially for someone that hasn't grown up on the game.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, it all culminated last Friday night when Mason Cox playing in the Preliminary Final for Colligwood in front of 100,000 people at the MCG put in a colossal performance, getting best afield honours and being major factor in his team winning a place into the Grand Final which is being played tomorrow. Everytime he marked(catched) the ball the whole Collingwood fans were in raptures, chanting U S A! U S A!  all the while,  every time he marked the ball and kicked a goal the camera was panning to his parents in the crowd who had flew in from the States that morning to watch the game and just stood there in stunned amazement with their phones in hand taking it all in as their son was tearing Richmond(opposition team) a new arsehole! 

In Austrlalia we really laud and are extremely proud of our Athletes that have made it in the NBA or even our NFL punters that have found their way onto an NFL team roster and have become the no 1 punter. They are treated as superstars over here.

Mason Cox is an incredible story that I think every sport loving American should know about.
