Yeah I know she got married...which bummed me out! :D Nah just kidding ofcourse. Was happy for her obviously.

Morgan Mitchell I know, the others not sure...atleast can't remember the names from the top of my head.

As for Gen...I remember first spotting her at the London olympics...she kinda did it for me at the time and I've followed her ever since.

We had our AFL grand final today which was taken out by the Richmond Tigers who beat the Greater Western Sydney Giants by 86 points which is an absolute thrashing in our game. Richnond also won the premiership 2 years ago but lost the unlosable preliminary final last year. So it was a bit of redemption for them this season. They really are building somewhat of a dynasty there.

Unfortunately for my team Geelong who turned the halfway mark of the season 11-1 and top of the table went LWLWLWLWLW in the run home to the finals but still managed to finish on top at the end of the H&A season, such was their great first half of the season. They then kept up their inconsistent form in the finals and went LW then lost the preliminary final last week to eventual premiers Richmond after blowing a 21 point lead at half time to go down by 19 points.

Feels like another wasted season for my Cats after such a promising season. The coach who is signed up until the end of 2021 is under the pump from both the fans and the media for some very questionable decisions he made during the 2 losing finals and also for his coaching record in finals. He has been there 9 years and won a premiership in his very first year, most people think he inherited a dynasty team that had come off winning 2 premierships in the previous 3 years prior to him taking the helm. His winning record as coach stands at a staggering 74% The highest winning percentage of any coach in the history of the game, but it drops to 38.9% in finals with a 7-11 record and an even worse 26.66% 4-11 record since he won the premiership in his first year in 2011.

Watching today's Grand Final was a very bitter pill to swallow. Should've, could've, would've...

There's many a coach that does fine in the regular season, then chokes in the postseason.

And Bill Belichiks don't grow on trees...

True, but some coaches want to be the reason they win instead of entrustimg their players or system that got them there in the first place.

Yeah, and really, a coach is an extension of the team. It's the coach's job to know the rules, to monitor the situation, and to help the team make corrections as needed.

^^Thats right. In the Geelong Cats coach's instance. He made some pre determined mind boggling decisions during the finals that ended up costing his team a GF appearance and even a GF win.

On a different note. Just need to ask you Z. My brother will be in Dallas in the new year when the Cowboys are playing the Redskins. Should he secure his tickets now? He said the nose bleed seats are going for about $120 on stub hub atm and they're the cheapest currently outside of standing room.

Hey Congrats to Kelsey Lee Barber from Australia for winning their first ever gold in Javelin throw! Quite a throw it was on the last attempt too. Made me gasp.

I'd say so, yeah. Cowboys are doing well, and the Redskins is always a rivalry game, should be packed there. Standing room means you get to watch the game on a big monitor, not actually see the field... and then there's also parking to arrange or at least a park 'n' ride.

She only just scraped into the final too. She was ranked 2nd coming into these world champs so I'm sure it's a a big relief for her. It's all about getting it done in the big moments.

Yeah I did mention to him it was a rivalry game and the Cowboys had started the season well but just wasn't sure if tickets can go cheaper last minute.

Thanks Z

Indeed....it was a real surprise to see her win...and I love surprises in athletics!

Today my favourite Finnish athlete starts her mighty task in the games...the Heptathlete Maria Huntington:

Checked the date of that game... it's week 17, so there's a chance it becomes a game where they let the second-string play, if they've already got a playoff berth and home field clinched... or if they totally flamed out, mid-season. Hard to say, really...
