So England set a total of 182. Didn't add to their overnight total. Will be an historic win for Ireland if they pull off this victory and an embarrassing loss to England

I saw that, I'm not entirely surprised, not as close as I had expected..

Edit: 7th lowest test score ever and the lowest since 1955.

We like consider our AFL players over here the bravest and toughest in the world sport when it comes to putting their bodies on the line and absorbing punishment and just playing on but this is just flat out ridicules.
Scott Thompson who plays for the North Melbourne football club in our AFL competition, 2 weeks ago copped a stray boot in the nether regions and ruptured a testicle and instead of going off in angonising pain and not playing another minute he shooed the medics away and played the game out which was about another 45 minutes. Ended up going to hostipal straight after game and having his nutsack opened up, his testicle repaired and his nutsack sewn back up. He ended up missing the following game on doctors orders which was against his want to play but is about to run out on the field and compete again in about 30 minutes time, only 2 weeks after rupturing it.  :o

So Scott was interviewed on live TV after the game tonight and it went something like this...

Interviewer: So how they going Scott?

Scott: Yeah pretty good actually, might've stretched the stitches a bit but otherwise not too bad at all.

Anyone interested in the Rugby World Cup? It starts in Japan on 20th Sept... I suppose I'm looking at you Jack ;) But it might have a wider interest here than the Cricket as many of our memebers live in countries which are taking part:

Australia, England, France, USA, Canada and Russia are amomg the 20 teams competing.

Favourites this year? You can't look further than the usual teams: Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and England who have all won the World Cup in the past. But throw in Wales (who may well go to No.1 in the World Rankings today if they don't lose to England in a warm-up match), Ireland and France who all have a chance if they bring their A games.

Have to admit I'm not much a Rugby Union fan. Much prefer Rugby League but AFL is my first love of sports that are played in Australia.

In Australia, the northern states, NSW and Queensland are Rugby League/Union heartland although AFL still has a strong market there too. But in the southern and western states, Victoria, Tasmania, SA, WA as well as the NT are absolutely dominated by AFL.

Union has dropped off significantly in our country in recent years but there's still a keen interest in the Wallabies, especially when the World Cup rolls around which is the only time I take an interest in Union.

The All Blacks have dominated Rugby in the last 10 years and look like they're gonna be the team to beat again.

Yeah, generally I'm not a huge fan of Rugby Union (and I've no interest in the "League" variant), I'm not that interested in club level rugby the same way I'm a fan of club football or county cricket. But I do like to follow international rugby and big tournaments.

NFL is the second best football sport in the world. Once you've worked out all the rules and tactics of the game it's a brilliant and highly addictive game to watch. Love it.

Hoping the Cowboys can settle up their personnel issues so they can focus on the games ahead. Don't know if they'll go all the way, but I expect them to do some exciting things.

Athletics World Championships starting right about now in Doha Qatar.

I'm not a huge athletics fan but I do enjoy watching the championships. Always great to see the worlds finest athletes at work.

Finland is looking for a medal as well but I seriously doubt that...

I've always liked athletics and have taken an even keener interest since my kids have taken it up as a sport. Both are sprinters.

Australia has a few field athletes that are shooting for gold but it's obviously hard to compete on the track with the Americans and other black sprinters and middle distance runners from around the world.
