Charger's Wine Club Beer Edition!

This time we have a lager from Scotland called Tennent's T 1885 Lager.
The lager is of nice golden brown in color and has a nice soft taste. There is a hint of fruitiness and sweet maltiness.
Some Scottish beers that I've had have been very strong in flavour and not always in a positive way, but the T is milder and more easier to enjoy but it still has just enough character to make it stand out from your average beers or lagers to be more accurate.
This also has a slightly higher alcohol content of 5% but you cannot taste it.
All in all a very positive discovery and a very enjoyable beer...it is rather easy to highly recommend this one!

Tennent's T is a great beer. When I spent 3 months travelling around the UK and Europe in 2000 Tennants was one of the beers I enjoyed the most on the trip. Have never been able to track anyone down in Australia that imported it until recently but it is very expensive to buy. It's like $80 a case.

That can was about 3€ here which would make a case of 24 about 72€ which would make it about 115 AUD or 82US$

Actually that's quite cheap for an import beer here...especially considering it was a 0.5l can.

A 0.33l bottle can cost more than 6€ here.

Cases are cheaper which is why you buy a case. You can buy a pack of 4 here for $17 which works out at $4.25 each, still a little cheaper than you paid. Not sure why that is.

You get many Aussie inports over there Charger?

Its funny! No one drinks Fosters over here but it seems to be out most well known beer abroad along with Victoria Bitter which has always been a favourite of beer drinkers in Australia

Craft beers seem to be all the rage over here at the moment though with Pirate Life and Feral War Hog being two of the better ones I've had, but I doubt they'd be available where you are.

From the bigger Breweries, James Boag's, Cascade Premiun, Coopers Pale Ale and Crown Lager are good choices.

I quite like Foster's actually! I have it every now and then.  Victoria Bitter I've never had...

Coopers Pale Ale I know...that I've had, the others are new to me so I'll be seeing if I can find them.

Another Aussie thing I've had is Two Dogs...my god that was horrible! :D

Back to the old days:

Return Of the ORIGINAL Charger's Wine Club!

Few years ago I started the mission to go through every single US made wine available here and make small reviews out of everything which was the birth of the Wine Club. Well a while ago already I had gone through all of the ones that were atleast readily available but now a few new ones have arrived so naturally I had to restart my old pet project.

So this time on Charger's Wine Club we have a 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma County California called Louis M. Martini.
This is a very smooth and almost sweet tasting red with hints of plums, herbs and chocolate and even a mild cherriness.
This is one of the better Cabernet Sauvignon's I've had. The wine is also rich in tannins too which adds to the taste perfectly.
A wine this rich in taste might even benefit from few years of aging but is also excellent to drink as it is.

As usual I'll be rating this using the wine magazine rating from 85 to 95.
The last great CS was from Noble Wines to which I gave a 94 rating and I have to say this one is probably even better so I would be doing this a disfavour if I wouldn't give it the best rating of 95!

This wine can be highly recommended.

I’m not much of a wine drinker, I love beer.

May I recommend Victory Storm King Imperial  Stout

Great tasting heavy stout with an alcohol content of 9.1
