Our little cold snap is over. Rainy overnight but about 12/13C today.

High today is 0 F (-17C). Which it is right now. Last night and today have been the coldest so far, got down to -13 F (-25C) where I live overnight, wind chills about -35 F (-37C). Been snowing for about five hours, but very lightly, might end up with a couple of inches total - on top of the few we got last week.

Kept power here, save for one 15-min outage on Sunday, water system in Dallas still good, but many neighboring communities are on boil orders. Gas and groceries in short supplies due to trucks not being able to get through, but we should be out of the freezing conditions by Saturday afternoon.

East coast is set to get the band of snow we got yesterday later this week, and that's the story from Texas. Back to you in the studio, KDC!

We’ve had a string of about 5 days in the 30 plus Celsius range but cooling down to about 21c today. I haven’t been following this thread but both my kids said on seperate occasions this week, “you know it’s snowing in Texas?”  My kids have happy memories of Texas.

What’s going on there Z? It’s not snowing in Dallas/Fort Worth area is it?  How many times has Texas seen snow through history?

We got something like 6-8 inches, all told. That's 15-20cm. Last round was on Wednesday and we got above freezing on Friday, in the 70s now - 20C.

Normally, we'll get ice instead of snow, and it'll be a day or two of the mess. This round, however, was deeply cold and unprecedented. Nothing in the state power grid was ready for temps like these, and we even had baseline coal and nuclear power stations going offline with frozen control systems.

Our office in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, had a water main break, and froze. A couple of the guys down there thought it was the end times. Thankfully that arctic air is back in the arctic.

Well, Texas weather bounces back. 80F / 27C yesterday.

I already thought spring would have arrived as we had pretty nice +7c (45F) sunny days last week...but oh no...no no no no...nothing positive my way...fuck no.

Temps gonna be dropping below -15C (5F) again this week...nights might be arround -20 (-5F) again...

Fuck this winter shit.

I'm just glad that winter stuff isn't here this week. Loads of dead trees and bushes from the severe freeze that we got.

We're looking at a wet and windy period from Wednesday night, but temps are still in line with the average for the time of year (10c).

Looks like some insanely heavy rain and flooding in Australia. Hopefully not affecting Jack and Scott too badly.
