Just played it a second time, now comparing it to A Pound of Feathers by The Black Crowes.

Stones made a solid effort, but I'd have to say that the ending of Hackney Diamonds with "Sweet Sounds of Heaven" was a breathtaking experience that's absent from Foreign Tongues. I'd place that one above Foreign Tongues, but as it stands on its own, Foreign Tongues is a fun blend of styles and musical references that I look forward to spinning again in the future.

As I play The Black Crowes, though, I'm getting the feeling that the Crowes made the better album of the two. If that pans out, then I'll need to see if the Stones go to 4th or 5th on my list for the year. That being said, it's a tight tight tight race this year for top album honors.
