Gonna pick up the new Emperor Guillotine album, some tasty and riffy jams on it.

ok, after a dozen plays and more and more pleasure, I've finally placed my order for this wonderful double vinyl of The Dead Daisies "Holy Ground".

I quite like the album (listened to it yesterday)

Curious to know what you think of Like No Other (Bassline)... it feels like something "today's youth" would like! ;)

true ! the track is incredibly groovy. Glenn's bass hums deeply through the solar plexus. 3 years ago Hughes had already shown his bass skills by holding the bass on Satriani's album 'What Happens Next". A real pleasure. "Like No Other" could also be straight out of the Fused sessions, like some tracks from this very good album recorded in the south of France in November 2019 just before the pandemic.
Brilliant album.

Ok, that is fantastic. First time I've heard of them, first time I listened to them. Thanks for sharing it!

^^^ You're welcome, Sir !

IMO, one of the factors of success is also the fact that the boss is David Lowy. Glenn Hughes is not the master on board. He's therefore more sober in his performance - especially in his way of singing - but at the same time better directed to let his talent explode.
How long this will last ? I don't know because The Dead Daisies is conceived from the start as a collective more than a real band. However, temporary situations like this, I ask for more every day !

I do enjoy the album a lot. I will say that I'm not a fan of the last track "Far Away" but it could yet grow on me. And yes, I hadn't thought of it but some of the tracks have a very similar feel to "Fused".

I did get the Satriani album but I didn't get into it after a couple of listens and haven't tried it since.

I confess , I'm a ballad guy !  ;D so I love Far Away as a good final track.

I find this recording sessions video with the band. Awesome place. you can smell the varnish of the wood when Glenn walks into the recording booth.

... and this one has an insane Fused riff : My Fate !

Doug Aldrich is a killer axeman

I've just pre-ordered:

The Stranglers - Dark Matter

Probably their last studio album and the first since 2012, it comes with a bonus disk of previous unreleased material featuring late keyboard player Dave Greenfield.

Due for release 10th September.

Pre ordered the signed edition metal vinyl of KK’s Priest new album Sermons of the Sinner although I’m not much a fan of the new song they just released. Hopefully the rest of the album is better.
