They've been saying that about CDs for at least 8 years, and DVDs were supposed to have dissapeared at least 5 years ago. I much prefer a physical copy even if I rip it to MP3 and listen to it on a walkman (I don't have a decent HiFi at the moment)!

Apparently by the end of next year cds will completely phased out and no longer produced.

:wtf:

That shit better not happen!
Yeah I heard that from an industry source who has ties to record companies. Some big retailers have already started eliminating cds from their stores and car makers have stopped producing new cars with CD players. The last 2 years vinyl has outsold cds for the first time since 1986. Also sales of Bluetooth speakers have gone through the roof the last couple of years further eliminating the need for cds. Unfortunately music cds days are numbered it seems.

I prefer to have the physical copy as well but I have to admit most of the music I listen to these days is streamed. Occasionally if I get access to the lounge room(my son has taken it over with his gaming) where my turntable is I’ll spin some vinyl, but all other times it’s streamed either at home or while out and about.

Well if I can't get cds my new music listening days are over then.

I don't use any streaming services (they screw the bands over anyways) and digital stuff is just too impersonal anyways...I need to have a physical copy in my hands.

But I seriously doubt it'll happen any time soon....every year some artists or record companies say this is gonna be the last year of cds and it never was...As long as there'll be demand they'll make them. And I seriously doubt the demand would ever stop fully. Atleast I hope not.

Maybe...I have been thinking about getting a vinyl player but honestly I want to keep my vinyls in an unplayed condition. But that might have to change in the future I guess... :(

I buy the album on Bandcamp when I can and then on Amazon when I can't. All digital for me.

I am indeed but my wife isn’t. She’s working from home atm. I have security cameras at my front door with a 2 way intercom, but it’s a few seconds delay, so when I get the notification someone’s at my front door the delivery man has already knocked so I can’t tell him to just leave the package to the side out of view lol

How timely they arrived on his birthday. Looking good but not much a fan of that KTD artwork though. Much prefer the original. Good to have both I suppose.

You didn’t get Magica? Mine should arrive sometime next week.

I already have the Magica Deluxe Edition that came out couple of years ago...didn't see the need to get it again.

And yes I too prefer the original KTD artwork...Much cooler...this is bit too dark for my liking the brighter colors of the original are what made it so special...one of DIO's best art works infact.
