Bill Ward Health
« on: July 09, 2026, 05:12:35 PM »
I've seen a few posts on Facebook today - including one from Bill himself - which suggests that he now has to use a wheelchair in some situations. He says he can still walk, but not very far. The example he gave was when he passes through an airport.

He says he is still a DRUMMER!

Sad to hear about that - not too surprising though. Does he still do his radio show?

Ian Paice is a stark contrast to our beloved Mr. Ward. I wonder how much of the difference is just down to genetics, and how much of it is lifestyle related.

Well Bill will always be a drummer...but does he have the ability to PLAY drums is a whole different story! :D

Yeah I saw the post from him as well. Bill sure has lived a hard life and I think it is taking it's toll.

Paicey on the other hand....he is still an absolute beast. He might be blessed with some super drummer genes.

Where there is life, there is always hope. I saw where Bill stated to a reporter yesterday, "I'll keep rocking forever." Can't argue with that mentality!

For a guy to use a wheelchair to get around at age 78 isn't all that bad, all things considered. I've been using a cane to keep from falling over since 2003. I'd been having nerve issues in my legs and feet since at least my teen years, so the cane really helped me to not fall over. :)

I am 100% behind Bill Ward *not* falling over! :)
