Winter Olympics 2026

Well today is the kick off to the Winter Games of Milano 2026.

Anything you lot watch from the winter games?

I am not a big winter sports fan but I do enjoy Curling. It's just really interesting to watch...So I'll be checking out as much of that as I can...

IF Finland does well in Hockey I might watch some of that as well.

I have some interest, some skiing, ski jumping, bobsleigh related events.

It's interesting that the GB team has never won more than 5 medals at a single winter olympics, and many times we get 0! This time they think they can beat that 5 medal haul. The problems though is they are in technical events like the bobsleigh where one slight miss step will mean you lose big time!! I'm sure we will get a couple and fingers crossed for more.

Not a lot of hope for medals for Finland either...

Old lady Lindsey Vonn took quite a tumble yesteday. That's what you get going into something that difficult while injured and bit long in the years...Should have stayed out...made a mistake and paid a huge price for it.

I saw that, needed surgery on a broken leg.

One of the UKs best shots for a medal (possibly gold), freestyle skier Kirsty Muir ended up 4th today... Typical Brit, can't perform at an Olympics! :)

Well GB team in doubles curling won the round robin with 8-1 win loss score and semis are tonight...so if they win that one medal is atleast coming! :)

Every Finn so far has under preformed as well...not shots at medals...and the Women's Ice hockey team was projected to win gold and they've lost both of their matches with zero goals made...so yeah...

This might become the worst winter olympics in Finnish history.

That broken leg is an ignominious out for her, but I agree that she is a bit long in the tooth to compete in that sport at that level.

Ok, GB finally get a medal and it'd GOLD in the mens skeleton... after about 4 or 5 other medal chances drawing a blank.

I'm rather shocked that we won 2 more Golds today. One in the Mixed Snowboard Cross (!) and the other in the Mixed Skeleton, I saw the end of the latter and that was quite tense but exciting!

We've never won more than 1 gold at any previous games, so even if we don't get the target of 5 it's still an achievement
